The tour was an amazing experience. The food was great and the tour is well designed. Additionnaly, Stevie, our guide was great as he knew how to mix historical facts, anecdotes and jokes from start to end. I highly recommend for anyone spending some time in Reykjavik.
Our guide, Rosie was fantastic! I wish the meeting area were a bit more specific, as it just vaguely says "Harpa Concert Hall" on this website, but that very small nitpick is my one and only complaint. Otherwise the food was tasty, our guide was knowledgeable, and the tour was tons of fun!
First and foremost: this was delicious. We especially liked the various fish dishes we got a chance to try, and will probably be attempting some of them at home. Second, Rosie (our tour guide) was terrific at explaining what we were eating, why it was Icelandic, and how it related to Icelandic history. We learned a lot about the culture of Iceland in the several hour walk, as well as coming away with sated stomachs, and the feeling that we'd had a chance to try several restaurants in the time that we would normally only have spent on one. Rosie even sent us an after-walk summary, which is going to help in looking up recipes now that we're back home.
Aron was an amazing guide. The food was delicious with the exception of fermented shark. It was a tiny taste but left much to be desired. The evening ended with a delicious rhubarb crisp. Thr tour is worth the expense for a delicious taste of Iceland cuisine.
