Fixed 21' Jeon Hyun-moo, The Reason he Suddenly Started Broadcasting Weightlifting with 'No Experience'
Park Hye-jeong, who expressed her sorrow over being an unpopular sport, promised to "help by participating in weightlifting broadcasts"
KBS's Jeon Hyun-moo appears, and SBS appoints Bae Seong-jae
Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo will be the first Olympic weightlifting caster in his life.
He, who has no experience in Olympic broadcasting, is reportedly heading to Paris to keep a promise with weightlifter Park Hye-jeong, whom he met on a variety show, and is drawing attention.
According to KBS, Jeon Hyun-moo arrived in Paris, France on the 6th.
Jeon Hyun-moo said through the KBS Sports Department, "I've finally arrived at the Paris airport.
I heard that Commissioner Kim Min-kyung did well in the shooting event.
The ratings were good too," and added, "I, Jeon Hyun-moo, will repay that good energy by topping the viewership ratings for Park Hye-jeong's weightlifting broadcast in three days. Fighting!"
Since the retirement of Jang Mi-ran, the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold medalist and Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, weightlifting has been classified as an unpopular Olympic sport.
Appearing on a program hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo in June, Park Hye-jeong said, "I did well at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year, but my arrival date overlapped with the badminton players.
It was heartbreaking to see all the reporters flocking to the badminton team," expressing her sorrow as an athlete in an unpopular sport. 사설 토토사이트
She also confessed, "When I know there's a live broadcast coming, I think, 'I have to show it. '"
Upon hearing this, Jeon Hyun-moo promised, "I will participate in the weightlifting broadcast and help out."
It must have been burdensome since it was his first time broadcasting a sports event, but KBS explained that he decided to make a surprise trip to Paris after hearing Park Hye-jeong's heartbreaking story.
Despite his busy schedule of 21 regular programs, he readily headed to Paris to keep his promise to Park Hye-jeong.
Is it Jeon Hyun-moo's influence?
The 2024 Paris Olympics weightlifting broadcast is receiving more attention than the main events.
Following KBS's Jeon Hyun-moo, SBS has appointed Bae Sung-jae as a weightlifting caster.
In a video released by YouTube channel KBS Sports on the 2nd of last month, Jeon Hyun-moo said, "Do you know that Bae Sung-jae is doing it because of me?" and "SBS originally didn't want to broadcast it.
It's a good thing (from the perspective of the weightlifting sport)."
While taking a profile picture, he also added, "Bae Sung-jae is standing there."
Bae Sung-jae is the representative caster of SBS and has broadcast various sports, but this is his first time broadcasting weightlifting.
The 2024 Paris Olympic weightlifting competition will begin with the men's 61kg weightlifting competition on the 7th and continue until the last day of the competition on the 11th.
Park Hye-jeong, who competes in the women's 81kg weightlifting class, will challenge for the gold medal on the 11th, the last day of the Paris Olympics.
