Try These Amazing Bakeries in Reykjavik

Brauð & Co has amazing cinnamon buns and authentic croissantsWhat is more perfect after a day of sightseeing in Reykjavik, than enjoying a delicious pastry with a warm cup of coffee or tea? There are plenty of amazing bakeries in Reykjavik, where you can try some traditional Icelandic things like kleina, happy marriage cake, or rye bread, or go for some more typical international treats like croissants or doughnuts. There are also amazing original creations to try in most bakeries.

It's actually pretty hard to go wrong when choosing a place for an afternoon treat in Reykjavik, but on our quest to find which are the best, we visited eight different bakeries in one day. Check out the video below from our exploration day in Reykjavik to learn which three bakeries were the favorites!

These three bakeries all have locations in the city center and are within a 15-minute walk from each other if you want to recreate the tour! We highly recommend stopping by and tasting some of the best pastries anywhere in Reykjavik.

Some of these are also included on this 2-hour Icelandic sweet tooth walking tour if you want to take the chance to learn more about the sweet side of Icelandic food culture. If you need more ideas, you can also check out some of the best cafés and breakfast places in Reykjavik for even more delicious places to try!
