Thailand's national team joins the Peaya Nut Panoi LOVB League
"Piyanut Panoy recently moved to the LOVB League," LOVB said on its official account on the 9th Korean time. "Piyanut has been through the Southeast Asian Games, 2 Asian Championships, AVC Cup, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan League as a libero for the Thai national team."
The 171 centimeter-tall Piyanut played in the national league from the 05-06 season to the 10-11 season, before moving to the Azerbaijani league and the Kazakhstan league for one season, respectively. The national team, Supreme Chonburi, played in the 2013-14 season, which lasted until the 22-23 season. In the previous season, he moved to the Azerbaijani league again in the 23-24 season.
Pyaanut is a member of the Thai national team that will participate in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Volleyball Nations League (VNL), which will open from the 14th. He is also a colleague of Ponpoon, who played for IBK Industrial Bank of Korea for 23-24 seasons, and Wipawi, who recently renewed his contract with Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
LOVB, which started as a club league in 2020, is the third volleyball league in the U.S., which plans to launch a pre-season in November 2024. Ahead of the league's launch, the league is actively recruiting outstanding players from countries such as their own countries, Asia, and Europe.
Setter Ponpoon, who played in the domestic league as Korea's first Asian quarter player, announced his advance to other leagues by finally withdrawing his tryout in the 24-25 season. Offer came in from Brazil, but he put more weight on entering the U.S., and if Ponpoon joins the U.S. league, he is likely to join the LOVB league with his teammate, Pyaanut Panoy.
If Ponpoon advances to the LOVB League, four players who have played in the Korean league so far will advance to the new professional league in the United States.
Earlier, LOVB officially announced the addition of Giovanna Milana, who played for the articles of association, Madison Kingdon Reeshel, who played for the Industrial Bank of Korea, and Dali Santana.
LOVB is a separate league from the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF), where Willow Johnson, who played for Heungkuk Life Insurance, and setter Nootsara Tomcom (San Diego Mojo), a former member of the Thai national team, play. The PVF League is a relatively short schedule that opened in January and finishes all schedules on May 18. Willow submitted a re-application for the domestic draft, but the contract was not renewed with Heungkuk Life Insurance.
