The success of the 10th Kyochon Ladies is a big hit
Golfers visit the venue enthusiastically because they can see the players' wonderful plays in front of their eyes.
The 10th Kyochon 1991 Ladies Open competition of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour is being held at "Golf Zone County Seonsan" located in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do from the 3rd to the 5th.
Galleries flocked to the gallery from the first day of the competition, signaling a success. However, the gallery was disorderly and management of the competition was insufficient.
In the past, only a small number of people who enjoyed golf used to visit golf tournaments, but now it has been reborn as a popular culture and is popular with many people, regardless of age or sex, such as couples and children, as well as lovers and friends.
However, in order for a mature gallery culture to establish itself, it is important to increase basic understanding and common sense of gallery etiquette.
All sports competitions have the safety of athletes and visitors as their top priority. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 1991 Ladies Open in Kyochon, a competition was held in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, the birthplace of Kyochon.
The love of golf in North Gyeongsang and Daegu is special. As a women's professional golf tournament was held in North Gyeongsang Province for the first time in a long time, it received high attention from golf fans.
On the first day of the competition, galleries were busy visiting the venue early in the morning to see their favorite players. At one point, galleries were crowded and the site was in chaos.
It is questionable whether SBS Golf, the host of the KLPGA tour, has completed safety training and is running the competition. One gallery fell on the spot as a cart driven by SBS Golf Broadcasting Company was forced to cross the gallery-controlled line (rough), and a tight line bounced and an iron stake that supported the line hit the gallery's chest.
According to the operation manual of the KLPGA tour, he was quickly transferred to the hospital. The injured visitor was fortunately not seriously injured and was treated at the hospital before being discharged.
The driver of the SBS golf cart that caused the accident left the scene without any action. I was astonished at the behavior of the broadcasting company that ignored safety concerns.
The final round of the tournament overwhelmed the scene with a cloud gallery despite a rainy day.
Galleries raised eyebrows for their reckless behavior to take a step forward. The safety of the players seemed to be in danger, especially with spectators who stormed the course.
In golf, galleries are part of a stadium. Galleries should actively consider the psychological aspects of players and be careful not to interfere with the proceedings of the game. Actions that reduce the concentration of players can lead to fatal mistakes.
We hope that a mature gallery culture can be established compared to the popularity of golf in Korea.
