Former teacher Hwang Hee-chan, 'South Korean managerial hopeful', will take the Italian stage.

Julen Lopetegui, who has emerged as one of the top candidates for the South Korea job, has been linked with the AC Milan managerial job.

“Lopetegui has convinced Milan that he is the right man to succeed Stefano Pioli,” Italian media outlet Football Italia reported on Nov. 27 (KST). Club owner Gary Cardinale is said to have authorized the move,” the outlet reported.

Milan decided to part ways with Pioli at the end of the season. Before the end of the season, a number of names were floated as possible replacements. Thiago Motta, Mark van Bommel, Paulo Fonseca, Francesco Paroli, and Domenico Tedesco were among the names mentioned. 

Milan have reportedly interviewed each of the candidates. “Lopetegui stood out from the other candidates during the meeting with Milan, convincing them that he was the right option to succeed Pioli at the end of the season,” the outlet said. The Cardinale president agreed, and things are moving forward. Although he hasn't signed yet, it's looking more and more likely that he will take over as Rossoneri coach this summer.”

A former goalkeeper, Lopetegui retired from playing for Rayo Vallecano in 2002 and went into coaching in 2003, when he was named 메이저사이트 coach of the Spanish U-17 national team. He went on to coach Real Madrid Castilla, the Spanish age-group national team, and FC Porto before taking over the Spain national team in 2016. 

However, he was dismissed after it was revealed that he had prior negotiations with Real Madrid. He didn't fare much better at Real and was sacked after just two months in charge. He rebounded with the Sevilla job. Lopetegui led Sevilla to the UEFA Europa League (UEL) title in the 2019-20 season.

He's also experienced the Premier League (PL). He immediately took charge of Wolverhampton. Lopetegui utilized Hwang Hee-chan to keep the team in the relegation zone. However, he left after just one season and is currently on a break this season. He was linked with the South Korean national team as a possible successor to Jürgen Klinsmann.

However, it seems that Lopetegui has decided where he wants to go next. Milan, the Italian Serie A champions. Milan seem to be cruising in second place in Serie A this season, but the Milanese fans are very unhappy with Pioli's tactics. The team hasn't won the hearts of the fans in terms of performance. As a result, Milan will part ways with Pioli at the end of the season. The club is considering Lopetegui as their next coach.
