Son Heung-min finally gets some breathing space
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Hudson-Odoi, according to reports.
Manager Enze Postecoglou has spoken of a major overhaul of the squad after the end of the season. In particular, he emphasized strengthening the attacking line. Hudson-Odoi is a former Chelsea youth winger. He made his Premier League debut in the 2017-18 season and has gradually increased his playing time since then. His time at Leverkusen was no different. He struggled with one goal and one assist in 21 games. When he returned to Chelsea, there was no place for him.
Since moving to Nottingham this season, Hudson-Odoi has fulfilled his potential. In 29 league appearances, he has scored eight goals and provided one assist. His goal against Chelsea last time out was followed by a celebration against his hometown team.
Hudson-Odoi's arrival would take a weight off Son's shoulders. Playing both left winger and up front this season, Son has 17 goals and 10 assists in the league. That's more than any other player on Tottenham. He was practically the lone striker on offense. Adding another attacking option would free up some physical space.
Naturally, Timo Werner"s departure is of interest. Werner joined Tottenham on loan in the winter transfer window and has yet to make a permanent move. According to the media, Spurs have yet to finalize a deal to buy him outright.
