There’s also an abundance of waterfalls around Solbrekka. The nearest one, Klifbrekku waterfall, is only 9 miles (15 kilometers) west. Hengifoss and Litlanesfoss waterfalls are around 46 miles (75 kilometers) further.
Gufufoss waterfall, the most magnificent waterfall in Seydisfjordur fjord, is 36 miles (62 kilometers) north. Further north, 10 miles (15 kilometers) away, is Dalatangi and its two lighthouses. The older lighthouse was built in the 1890s, while the other was in the 1900s.
The most accessible town, Egilsstadir, is 25 miles (40 kilometers) from Solbrekka. Here, you can refill your supply at Netto and Bonus supermarkets. For restaurant recommendations, check out Kjot and Fiskur restaurant, which has some of the best fish and chips in the region.
While at Egilsstadir, you can also check out one of the largest geothermal spas in Iceland, Vok Baths. Aside from its hot waters, there’s also an on-site sauna, a bar, and a restaurant inside.

The guesthouse has two types of rooms, the king room and the family room. The King Room can accommodate up to three people, but it doesn’t have a bathroom. Meanwhile, the family room can accommodate up to six people and has a bathroom.
Visitors to Solbrekka guesthouse can also opt for a sleeping bag if they want a simpler sleeping option.
Solbrekka’s holiday homes, on the other hand, are cottages that can accommodate up to four people. Aside from the bedroom, they also have a living room with a sofa bed and a hot tub.
Aside from those few differences, both amenities have free Wi-Fi and parking space, a dining area, a kitchen, some barbecue facilities, and a terrace.
