Location & Nearby
The Reykjavik Domes are just a 15-minute-drive east of the downtown area in Reykjavik; despite their proximity to the capital, they are immersed in nature, overlooking Faxafloi Bay and the spectacular, flat-topped mountain of Esja.
This area can be accessed by bus in just 40 minutes by those not renting a car, making it accessible for all travelers. As such, the domes provide the perfect mix of accessibility to all services a tourist could need and all the escape they could ever desire.
Though the experience of the Reykjavik Domes is their greatest appeal, you can also use them as a base for visiting the sites of the west and south. The first site of the Golden Circle, Thingvellir National Park, is only 30 minutes away, whereas Seljalandsfoss waterfall and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula can be reached in just over an hour and a half.
Facilities & Amenities
There are two types of Reykjavik domes: the standard dome and the deluxe dome. The standard domes cover 25 square meters, whereas the superior ones cover 35, with the latter having a private bathroom and shower within its walls and a hot tub right outside. The former shares bathroom facilities, but they are excellently maintained.
Otherwise, they are rather similar. Both boast king-size beds with sheepskin covers, burning fireplaces, large windows, and views over the magnificent Mount Esja, as well as a welcoming, rustic decor. They also share access to the communal kitchen, and guests from both have entry to the nearby mini-golf course in summer.
Why Choose Reykjavik Domes?
The appeal of the Reykjavik Domes should speak for themselves; they provide an unconventional, incredible, immersive stay in the nature of Iceland with easy access to the capital. Check availability by choosing a date.
