Summary
Description
The Brunnholl Country Guesthouse is a fantastic place to stay on the Ring Road of Iceland, between the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and the village of Hofn. With 33 rooms, plenty of onsite amenities, and glacial views, it is recommended for all travellers to the country’s southeast.
Location & Nearby
Located directly on Route 1 on a working dairy farm run by the same family since 1986, the Brunnholl Guesthouse is immersed in the idyllic, rural landscapes beside Vatnajokull glacier. This feature, the largest ice cap in Europe, is only 6 km away and can be admired from many hiking routes around the hotel. The Fláajökull glacier tongue is visible from the guesthouse and can be reached on foot.
The position of the guesthouse on the Ring Road makes it perfect for those circumnavigating the country or taking a holiday exploring the south and east. The furthest sites of the South Coast from Reykjavik, the magnificent Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, are only 40 minutes away, whereas the first site of Eastfjords, Vestrahorn mountain, takes just half an hour to reach.
The closest settlement is Hofn, about 30 km away and just shy of Vestrahorn; here, guests will find all necessary services for travellers, as well as a thriving fishing culture.
