Blábjörg offers you a unique and excellent opportunity to explore a hidden treasure called Borgarfjörður Eystri. The village is reached from Egilsstaðir via the paved Road 94 (70 km, about 50 minutes) over the 430 m Vatnsskarð pass, and a 4x4 or studded tyres are recommended in winter. The area has plenty to offer for every nature enthusiast, including some of the most populated elfin settlements in Iceland and a tremendous variety of hiking routes. In addition, the harbour at Hafnarhólmi has the best access to puffins in Iceland, where from early April to mid-August you can observe the birds from a distance of two metres.

The on-site restaurant, Frystiklefinn, focuses on healthy options from local ingredients, and you will find classic, international dishes with an Icelandic twist on the menu. Booking a table in advance is recommended (in October it is open 18:00–21:00), and the breakfast buffet can be adapted for allergies or vegan diets. KHB Brewery & Bar is also on site, and Hafnarhús Café by the puffin colony is open from April to August. If you are in need of rest and relaxation, the guesthouse spa service, Musterið, is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of activities. The views from the outdoor hot tubs are stunning.
There are a variety of accommodation options with both private and shared bathrooms. Guests also have access to a sauna. Musterið Spa (hot tubs, saunas, beer baths) is not included in the room rate and must be booked separately, kids under 13 only until 17:00.
