Hotel Burfell is located in the middle of the South Coast sightseeing route, about 15 minutes drive west of the village of Vik. As such, those exploring the many great sites of this region over several days - as is recommended - will find it to be the perfect base, and those encircling the Ring Road will find it to be the perfect pit stop.
In the direction of Reykjavik, you will be able to reach the waterfalls of Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss by driving for 20 to 40 minutes; just shy of both is the spectacular glacier tongue of Solheimajokull. In the opposite direction, you can reach the rock arch of Dyrholaey and the black sand beach of Reynisfjara in 15 minutes.
Further east, you can access the sites of the Skaftafell Nature Reserve and the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, two of the most breathtaking sites not just in the country but the world.
