Description
Hotel Borg is an elegant 4-star Art Deco hotel located right in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city. It is a fantastic choice of accommodation for travelers seeking luxury, accessibility to countless major sites, and abundant modern amenities.
Location and Nearby
You will find the beautiful Hotel Borg in downtown Reykjavik, within easy walking distance of many major attractions. The main square of Austurvollur is directly across the road, visible from many windows, and the Althingi, or parliament house, is just 656 feet (200 meters) away.
This part of the city has many restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and bars, and more can be found at the main shopping street of Laugavegur, only 1,150 feet (300 meters) to the east.
Other major attractions of the city, such as the Harpa concert hall and Hallgrimskirkja church, are 2,100 feet (650 meters) and just over half a mile (one kilometer) away in different directions, allowing you to marvel over the architectural wonder of Reykjavik without effort. Many museums and galleries, such as the Settlement Exhibition, the Icelandic Punk Museum, the National Gallery, and the Phallological Museum, are similarly easy to access.
To reach the more peripheral sites of the city, such as the swimming pool of Laugardalslaug, luxurious Sky Lagoon, and Seltjarnarnes Nature Reserve, all you need to do is walk to the bus stop around the corner. Reykjavik’s buses run regularly throughout the year, making them a reliable alternative for those who do not wish to drive.
If you want to take tours into Iceland’s spectacular nature, all operators working in the city will be able to pick you up from a meeting point close to the hotel. Sightseeing around the Golden Circle, South Coast, and Snaefellsnes Peninsula and adventures such as snorkeling, glacier hiking, and caving are thus within reach for guests.
