Join this brilliant "Fast Track" Ice Cave tour, hands down the fastest way to experience the joys of ice caving in Iceland. This is the perfect tour opportunity for those travellers a little pressed for time, but still hoping to fit a spot of ice caving into their schedule.

This tour will begin from the meeting point in the village of Vík, from where you will embark on a beautiful and exciting Super Jeep ride to one of thirteen glaciers in Iceland, taking no more than an hour's travel. Throughout your transfer to the ice cave, you will be privy to a wealth of gorgeous scenery, ranging from distant mountainscapes to the rugged coastlines of the South Coast.

Once at the glacier area, you will borrow gear (i.e. helmet, headlamp, and crampons, etc.) and listen as your local guide provides an educational brief on safety and what to expect in the ice cave.   You’ll then take a super fun walk to the glacier ice cave (5-10 minutes) and go inside to explore it.

Inside of the ice cave, you will have your mind blown by the stunning shades of blue. Skidding, scooting and shuffling your way through this fantastical, subterranean world, you'll pass intricate, naturally formed ice sculptures and glittering tunnels, proving once and for all that ice caving takes any holiday experience to the next level.

You will have a total of 45-60 minutes in the glacier area for photos and exploration.  Your local guide will give you a little more insight into how the ice cave was formed and answer any questions you may have.

After ample time for your photos and selfies, you'll hike back out and take the gear off.  Then it’s time to get you back to the village of Vík so you can continue with your plan for discovering Iceland!

So what are you waiting for? Hurry now, and you too can experience the joys of ice caving in Iceland! Check availability by choosing a date.

So where to start, at the beginning. I was looking at taking a trip with the family and started to research the web and different options. I decided to look at a tour operator to make it easy for us and then looked at different tours and options. Following some more research I contacted guide to Iceland and started a conversation between myself and Kristina. The basis was the 5 day 4 night self drive tour customised to add in some options for each day we err there. Kristina was most helpful and after several exchanges and a number of q and a, we decided on the package we wanted with additional options. Kristina remained our rep throughout that process and then once the final itinerary was completed. Paying 50% up front then the remainder the month before we travelled was a good payment plan. I did have some additional questions and was worried about getting to the sights we wanted to see, however Kristina was there to help. We were contacted again before we left and then we were off. As all went to plan, there was no other requirement to contact the tour operator. Everything was organised and each hotel, car hire and excursion went up plan. It was a fantastic trip. GTI organised the car, hotels and excursions. We had a car from A Car Rentals, who met us at the airport and again on arrival back at the airport. Car was great, having 4 of us, the larger 4x4 was roomy and could live out of it for the week. The car hire guy did a thorough job of explaining how best to drive in Iceland and off we went. We visited the blue lagoon getting the premium entry and then off to Hotel Klettur in Reykjavík. This was a modern hotel, clean and well presented. It was short nice walk to the main road and then sights of the city so well positioned. There was parking outside and we also used the underground garage on our return on night 4. We ate in town on night 1 and 4. Nights 2 and 3 were at Hotel Vos and then Arnanes Country Lodge. Both of these were excellent and we ate dinner at both which was good value and of very high quality. I will review them separately but all 5 star ratings! Our other tours were snowmobiling with Montaineers of Iceland, Ice Cave tour with Katlatrack and zodiac tour of ice lagoon with ice lagoon adventure tours. Our guides for all, Sniper, Davide and Tamara were so good. All were helpful, full of interesting facts and stories as well as keen to show you their country. The companies should be very proud of the guides they have in their team. Again I’ll do a trip adviser review on each company , but rest assured they will all get 5 stars! Overall I cannot more highly recommend GTI as the means to arrange your Iceland experience and for each of the elements, they delivered in every way.

The guide is very professional, introducing the scenery all the way. It's amazing to see the ice cave in summer, as I learnt many ice cave tours are only open in winter. We love this tour. The guide is so kind to answer questions, show us the ice, and stop to take group photo for us. On the way back, we experienced his driving on some special off-road and sea beach. We three really enjoyed the tour in that morning.

It was a great ice caving trip. We took the Super Jeep and started riding into the wild outside Vik. It was a bumpy trip but the driver managed well. The Jeep went through flower fields, deserted areas and up some steep slopes during the trip. The ice caves were amazing, and the guides were good at explaining everything we saw and felt in the cave. They also helped whenever needed. Overall, this was a great experience for us. Definitely recommended for anyone who visits Iceland

We had a fantastic guide in AJ. We learned facts, folklore, and tons of history of the area while on a Super Jeep that kept us thrilled and bouncing! The climb and excursion through the cave can be seen as a bit scary but we had a great time and never felt like we would be in harms way. It was definitely a unique, once in a lifetime trip to the ice caves.

Our 3-hour glacier tour was the absolute highlight of our trip! The super nice & knowledgeable guide took us out to a glacier that was just a quick walk away from the car. We had ample time to explore on our own, he took incredible photos of my husband and I, and provided information on what we were seeing. We ended the trip with a ride along the beach. Absolutely worth every penny and made for some incredible photos/memories!

This tour is a great way to explore an ice cave and still have time for other activities in the afternoon. The tour starts with a rugged super hero drive through the valley featured in Rogue One. After putting on crampons, it is a short walk to the ice cave. Our guide was very knowledgeable and checked for safety before we entered the wonderous ice cave. We had plenty of time to explore and take photos. We ended the tour with an Icelandic toast. We would highly recommend this tour and KatlaTrack.
