Description

Join this excellent day tour that combines two of the most popular activities in Iceland; sightseeing on the Golden Circle route and relaxing in a geothermal swimming pool. Those wanting an authentic Icelandic experience should not let this opportunity pass them by.

Departing from the city of Reykjavík in the morning, you will make your with a small group of no more than 19 people, to the famed Golden Circle. With a small group like this, the atmosphere is sure to be both friendly and fun. On board is free WIFI and your driver will introduce you to both Icelandic music and snacks.

The first stop of the day is Þingvellir National Park, the birthplace of Iceland's parliament Alþingi. The park is located on the boundaries of two tectonic plates that are drifting apart, causing visible cracks and fissures in the surrounding landscape. Next up is Gullfoss, a mighty waterfall known for its sheer beauty and awesome power. You will then make a stop at a smaller but equally scenic cascade called Faxi.

Then, you'll be off to Geysir geothermal area in the Haukadalur valley. This is the home of bubbling mud pools, hot springs, and, of course, erupting geysers. The geyser Strokkur erupts here every few minutes, so keep your camera ready, you'll be sure to capture an amazing selfie with the 15-20 metre high water column in the background.

After a lunch break at Geysir area, it is time to relax in the warm geothermal waters of Iceland's oldest swimming pool called the Secret Lagoon, before returning back to Reykjavík city.

Swimming pools have a special place in the hearts of Icelanders, and there is one in every backwoods of the island. It is here where people gather to either get ready for the day in the morning or unwind after a busy day in the afternoon, and the hot tubs are one of the country's most important social venues where people meet to discuss everything from the weather to politics.

Come along on a fun-filled tour of the famed Golden Circle and end the day relaxing in the geothermal waters of the Secret Lagoon. Check availability by choosing a date.
