Visit Grenjadarstadur Turf House Museum and Godafoss Waterfall on this half-day shore excursion from Akureyri Port.
The tour starts at Akureyri Port, where your English-speaking guide meets you. You drive along the coast of Eyjafjordur Fjord, with panoramic views of the fjord.
Your first stop is Grenjadarstadur Turf House Museum, where you learn about the heritage and history of the area and see how people used to live in turf houses.
Next, you head to Godafoss Waterfall on the Skjalfandafljot Glacial River. The waterfall is known as the "Waterfall of the Gods," as pagan idols are said to have been thrown into it when Iceland converted to Christianity.
Then you head back to Akureyri. You can also choose to go to the Forest Lagoon.
