Description
Summary
Description
Explore many of Iceland's finest spots in one day on this fantastic 11-hour tour on the Golden Circle and Kerid Crater, with admission to Sky Lagoon geothermal spa. This tour is ideal for those who want to make the most of their Icelandic vacation by visiting as many famous places as possible.
Your fun-filled day starts at Reykjavik, where you'll be picked up between 8:30 and 9:00. You'll ride in pure comfort with your experienced tour guide on a Mercedes Sprinter minibus equipped with USB chargers at every seat and free Wi-Fi for your convenience.
Remember to wear hiking shoes and comfortable clothing. Keep your camera ready and pack a bathing suit for your luxurious spa experience at the Sky Lagoon.
Your first destination is the Golden Circle. This famous Icelandic attraction consists of three sites, and your first stop of the three is the Thingvellir National Park.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site lies in a rift valley and is one of the few places on Earth where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge can be seen above ground. Here the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet and pull away from each other so you can stand on two continents at once!
Thingvellir National Park holds Iceland's valuable history and incredible geography. You'll fall in love with the park's breathtaking landscapes accentuated by magnificent gorges, fissures, and lava fields, and be amazed to know that this park was once the seat of Iceland's first parliament.
On your second stop, you'll witness the raw beauty and power of the Geysir and Strokkur geysers at the Haukadalur Geothermal Area.
Geysir is known for giving all the geysers in the world their name. Although this geyser doesn't erupt much now, its neighbor, the mighty Strokkur, sends jets of boiling water from the surface every few minutes.
Next, you'll head to the magnificent Gulfoss waterfall.
This two-level waterfall is fed by the Langjokull glacier, the second-largest glacier in Iceland. Glacial water flows into the Hvitva river and rushes down into the ancient Gullfossgjufur canyon in a spectacular display that will take your breath away.
At this point, you have visited all three attractions of the world-renowned Golden Circle. But there's still more.
You'll drive for about 35 miles (56 kilometers) to your next location, the unique Kerid volcanic crater. Unlike most calderas, Kerid is composed of red volcanic rocks instead of black.
The crater's moss-covered walls are mostly steep, but there's one that you can descend to see the beautiful shallow azure lake at the crater's center up close.
Finally, after all that exploring, it's time for you to take a break and relax. Use your admission ticket to Sky Lagoon and unwind at the newest luxurious geothermal spa in Iceland that boasts an infinity pool and a stunning view of the North Atlantic Ocean!
Don't miss your chance to marvel at Iceland's glorious Golden Circle and Kerid volcanic crater and soak in the rejuvenating water of Sky Lagoon. Check availability now by choosing a date.
