The tour departs from Reykjavik and your first stop will be at the Thingvellir National Park. This is one of the treasures on Iceland, both for its importance in Icelandic history and for it´s amazing beauty. Thingvellir is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site and was the venue for the Icelandic Parliament from 930 to 1798. Among the many attractions of Thingvellir is that here the Eurasian and American tectonic plates meet and you can stand with one foot in each world!
Next on your agenda is a visit to the world-famous site of the hot spring Geysir. Hot springs are an important part of the nature of Iceland and Geysir has become a symbol of there around the world. Today it is it´s neighbour Strokkur which takes the centre stage, erupting every few minutes and throwing the hot water up to heights of 30 meters, creating a spectacular show of nature. In the Geysir area, you will be able to buy lunch or other food if you wish.
Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, is the king of the Icelandic waterfalls. The amazing raw power and beauty will take your breath away as the water relentlessly plummets down over 30 meters into a rugged canyon.
Thingvellir, Gullfoss and Geysir form the traditional Golden Circle, but to add even more excitement to your tour, you will also visit the Kerid Volcanic Crater. The 55 meters deep crater is over 3.000 years old and is a unique creation of the Icelandic nature.
After enjoying the great sights of nature, it is time to head to the famous Blue Lagoon where you will be able to relax in the natural hot water and enjoy the great facilities there. The Blue Lagoon is sold out most of the time well in advance but as this tour includes the Blue Lagoon Comfort admission tickets, you can start looking forward to an amazing day in Iceland as soon as you have completed your booking of the tour.
