The first highlight of the tour will be the breathtaking Hvalfjörður, also known as the Whale Fjord, where you can visit the remains of former whaling stations as well as Glymur waterfall, the second-highest waterfall in Iceland. The road along Hvalfjörður is a perfect idea for anybody who wants to escape crowds and go off the beaten track.
After that, we will visit the Deildartunguhver natural hot spring area, where we will have the option of enjoying a relaxing geothermal bath in the newly opened Krauma Spa. You will get to choose from various types of hot tubs, pools, and saunas. There is also a fantastic relaxation room. All this is set against a backdrop of mesmerizing Icelandic nature.
After Krauma, we will head to the historical town of Reykholt and take photographs of nearby waterfalls Hraunfoss and Barnafoss.
A fantastic optional stop on this tour is the visit to Viðgelmir lava cave, a wonderful cave where you can learn all about lava and eruptions.
Please note that the entrance to the lava cave and the entrance to Krauma Geothermal Baths are not included in the price of this tour but needs to be booked as "Extra".
In the winter months, on our way back to Reykjavík, we will make additional stops, and weather and good fortune permitting, we may be able to spot some Northern Lights.
