You’ll arrive at a hut by the ice cap, where you’ll be provided with a snowsuit and be introduced to your vehicle. Qualified drivers are welcome to operate a snowmobile themselves, while non-drivers can join the tour as passengers.

Snowmobiling on the white slopes of Langjökull is an exhilarating experience. The snowscapes are otherworldly, the glacial features are incredibly dramatic and the views of the surrounding landscapes without comparison. Of course, to witness them at high speed only adds to the adventure.

Then you will reach the cave, formed by a deep glacier river that crawls from under this massive glacier, and venture into the great, dark ice cave. Once inside, you'll see icicles hanging from the ceiling which shimmer when lights hits them, and walls of dark grey and black. It is quite a sight and one you will remember forever.

As you travel through, marvelling over the textures and colours, your guide will tell you all about how the glaciers were created, what the threats to them are, and how these threats are being managed.

After a once-in-a-lifetime exploration, you’ll return to your snowmobile and whizz back down the glacier. You’ll then be escorted back to Gullfoss, no doubt with a camera full of photos of your wonderful experience.
