Jump aboard this incredible boat trip in one of the world’s most inspiring places: the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Cruise between the marvellous icebergs that make this site so beautiful and well-renowned.

To begin this tour, you will meet at the cafe at Jökulsárlón twenty minutes before your departure, where you can exchange your vouchers for boat tickets. From here, you will proceed to board the amphibious vessel on land and wait for it to drive into the water.

No doubt, before getting aboard, you will have been marvelling at the spectacle of Jökulsárlón. When immersed in the lagoon, however, with the icebergs surrounding you from all angles, you will experience a different kind of beauty; this otherworldly environment is simply breathtaking.

You will spend forty minutes exploring the lagoon. There will be an English-speaking guide on board who will tell you all about the area's formation, history and future. You will even have an opportunity to taste the ice; considering it is thought to be about a thousand years old, this is quite the unique experience.

As you cruise through the lagoon, keep an eye out for seals. Many of these adorable creatures call Jökulsárlón home, and they can often be seen playing in the water or basking on the bergs.

The glacier lagoon is considered by many to be the most beautiful sight in Iceland, and an amphibious boat is one of the best ways to view it in all its glory. Once the tour is complete, however, do not forget to take a walk to the Diamond Beach to see where the bergs wash up after reaching the sea. A full day could be spent exploring this area, but the boat tour is sure to be the highlight.

Do not miss your opportunity to see Jökulsárlón from amongst the ancient ice. Book now to make sure you get your place on board. Check availability by choosing a date.

Amazing experience, so cool to be out on the lagoon and see the ice so close. A good amount of time to get the experience but also allow you to do other things like explore the beach. Boat also had a good number of people on it so everyone had a good view

It was awesome to see the glacier with close distance. The staff were nice and there was a little information session abou thr glacier by the tour guide. We even got to taste the ice from the glacier ;) Of course, the iceland weather, haha it was raining and cold so we were worried to ride the boat at first but we forgot the cold and truly enjoyed the boat ride!

It was nice, but we were left behind by the boat as they somehow decided to depart 5 minutes earlier than schedule. However, the staff at tickets were helpful and quick to put us on the next boat. We generally enjoyed the experience but may be it is not really worth the money :-)

Just incredible! We accidentally showed up late for our pre-booked boat tour and they had no problem putting us on the next one. The glacier and Icebergs are incredible from shore, but being in the water gives you an entire new perspective. Wasn't expecting an educational talk mid-way through the tour, but learned lots and enjoyed it. When they brought over a chunk of ice for us to touch and then eat it was magical. My friends and I truly felt mesmerized by the magic of Jokulsarlon.

It was so worth the trip! We had never been on an amphibious boat, but our 2 kids loved it. We got pretty close to the glaciers and even saw several seals. We felt very safe on the boat and were well informed about how the glaciers were formed, the impact of volcanic ash and how/why the colors change, and even got to hold a piece of the glacier. Our kids even got to make a wish and throw the chunk of ice back into the water. It was a truly amazing experience!

It was wonderful and very unique experience. Our guide was very friendly and was knowledgeable. The scene is similar as you look from the shore, but you can learn more facts about the glacier and the lake it forms. You can have the chance to taste the thousands years old ice-rock!! The makes this journey memorable!!
