Jump aboard this incredible boat trip in one of the world’s most inspiring places: the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Cruise between the marvellous icebergs that make this site so beautiful and well-renowned.

To begin this tour, you will meet at the cafe at Jökulsárlón twenty minutes before your departure, where you can exchange your vouchers for boat tickets. From here, you will proceed to board the amphibious vessel on land and wait for it to drive into the water.

No doubt, before getting aboard, you will have been marvelling at the spectacle of Jökulsárlón. When immersed in the lagoon, however, with the icebergs surrounding you from all angles, you will experience a different kind of beauty; this otherworldly environment is simply breathtaking.

You will spend forty minutes exploring the lagoon. There will be an English-speaking guide on board who will tell you all about the area's formation, history and future. You will even have an opportunity to taste the ice; considering it is thought to be about a thousand years old, this is quite the unique experience.

As you cruise through the lagoon, keep an eye out for seals. Many of these adorable creatures call Jökulsárlón home, and they can often be seen playing in the water or basking on the bergs.

The glacier lagoon is considered by many to be the most beautiful sight in Iceland, and an amphibious boat is one of the best ways to view it in all its glory. Once the tour is complete, however, do not forget to take a walk to the Diamond Beach to see where the bergs wash up after reaching the sea. A full day could be spent exploring this area, but the boat tour is sure to be the highlight.

Do not miss your opportunity to see Jökulsárlón from amongst the ancient ice. Book now to make sure you get your place on board. Check availability by choosing a date.

Our Iceland trip was fun! We were very outdoorsy, hiking to see waterfalls, coastlines, geysers, etc. lots of natural wonders. Driving around Iceland was easier than we'd expected, and our car was fine. All of our accommodations were very nice and comfortable, and the breakfasts tasty with many choices. We enjoyed the excursions we chose. The “Viking Sushi Boat” trip we took was especially fun. They took us out on the fiord and showed us puffins and other seabirds along the islands and shores, then fished up some shellfish and served lunch, sushi-style. Can’t get fresher than that. We soaked in two different hot springs on the trip. The Blue Lagoon included a drink and a mineral mask, and was a nice stop just after arriving in Iceland, having had little sleep on the plane. It was a good first activity. The Secret Lagoon was more of a local place, no frills, but still quite nice. It had the hot springs right next to the pool, and we could walk around and see little hot pots boiling out of the ground, and a mini geyser. The dressing room there was spotlessly clean. We toured lava and glacier caves, which were so cool. The Golden Circle, Geysir, Thingvellir, Vatnajökulsþjóðgarður, the Snaefellsnes peninsula all were worth visiting. One of the most scenic spots we visited was Reynisfjara, a beach with black sand and cool basalt rock formations. We also liked our boat trip in the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. We also enjoyed our visits to Reykjavík at the start and end of our trip. All in all, a very good vacation.

My family and I had an excellent time visiting Iceland. The itinerary provided us the opportunity to see and do many great things. It also made planning the trip so much easier. We found the hotels to fulfill our needs with a high level of service and quality. The excursions were a great addition to our wonderful experiences.

We visited in early June 2019 and enjoyed the visit to Jokulsarlon. We drove from Selfoss, which is a a solid 4 hour drive. The best part of the amphibian boat trip was when the mate pulled ice from the lagoon and let us hold it. Then, he smashed it into pieces for everyone to enjoy. Nothing better than tasting 1000? year old ice! If we only thought to bring some Whiskey! The boat trip provided a decent alternate perspective of the massive Icebergs, rather than just from the shoreline. Our family of 4 (w/2kids) thought the excursion was worth the long drive. Of course, there are many other sights along Rt1 to stop and enjoy coming to or going from Jokulsarlon. Thanks for a great opportunity!

This is short trip, but it's absolutely must while in Iceland with family. Especially with younger kids. No risk of see sickness or a rough ride, but it's still quite an adventure - after all you are driving in to the freezing glacier lake aboard of "post cold War American army amphibian boat to try some really old ice". It is also surprisingly affordable (compared to most price tags in Iceland - but I must say visiting this country is worth every penny). So during the trip we learnt a lot and we had a chance to touch and to eat a piece of 2 thousand years old glacier ice. Our guide was absolutely brilliant and funny, so it wasn't boring - but it wouldn't be anyway - views are amazing and possibility of seeing a real iceberg up close is an amazing experience. On top, they're really accomodating - we arrived at departure time of our prebooked trip and the boat was about to leave, but they waited for us and let us on. Highly recommend. As a tip - get dressed warm, even if it is middle of the summer and weather seems to be great - same tip as for visiting any attraction in Iceland.

The guide was very nice and the information was very rich and clear. We got to taste a piece of ice and hold the crystal clear ice for picture. However, WARNING*** too many people on one boat. It ruins the fun of taking photos, and we have to squeeze into the seats for departure and landing on the beach (even though it was just less than 10 mins).
