Jump aboard and explore many of Iceland's most stunning natural attractions with this immersive tour to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. This trip should not be missed by those seeking to witness this nation’s beautiful volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls and coastal landscapes within a day.

You will be picked up by a minibus from Reykjavík early, meet your guides and group, and head north from the capital region. The countryside en route to Snæfellsnes is rural and picturesque, with many quaint towns and beautiful ocean views.

As soon as you reach the Peninsula the landscapes will be much more dramatic. A range of mountains runs to the west, surrounded by a craggy coastline. You will start by traversing the southern side, which is lined with features all the way to the crowning glacier and volcano, Snæfellsjökull.

You will see the charming fishing villages of Búðir, Arnarstapi and Hellnar, the gorge of Rauðfeldsgjá, the seal-watching beach Ytri Tunga, and, most impressively, the Lóndrangar basalt plugs. This latter feature is renowned for its spectacular geology as well as its population of birds.

You will then enter Snæfellsjökull National Park, in full view of the mighty glacier. This great landmark has inspired artists since it was first seen.

As you move over to the northern side of the peninsula, you will be able to see more fishing villages and will have an excellent view over the largest fjord in Iceland, Breiðafjörður. If you are lucky, you may see orcas in the waters, and they regularly travel through this area.

Your main and final destination here, however, is Mount Kirkjufell. Often called Iceland’s most photographed mountain, it juts out dramatically from the coast, and is positioned right beside the charming waterfall Kirkjufellsfoss. You will have plenty of time to admire and photograph this charming feature, before getting back in the van.

Before taking the scenic drive back to Reykjavík, however, you are invited to join a traditional meal with some locals, making for the perfect way to immerse yourself in Icelandic culture.

Don’t miss this thorough exploration of Snæfellsnes. Check availability by choosing a date.

Amazing tour, amazing places, amazing guide. Swen took us in great places and he was brilliant, there was a lot of wind since the region is ventilated. The local dinner was delicious

Well we had a bad bindy weather during this tour , the tour guide was fine enough .. What makes this tour amazing is the dinner with local people at their house , other than the locations are just fine but not that amazing spots compared to the highlights of iceland ( golden circle - glacier lagoon - blue lagoon ) So if ur spending many days i’d recommend this tour for u

Very worthwhile tour and let’s you see a side of Iceland that shouldn’t be missed. Jonas was our guide and the tour operator was EastWest. We had a really good time on this tour and Jonas was very knowledgeable and helpful explaining the highlights of the region. Despite some difficult passengers on our tour, he was always pleasant and did his best to accommodate everyone. Even when we ended up over 30 min behind schedule due to some unforeseen circumstances, he managed to still get us to all our highlights on this tour, allowing for photos and getting us to our dinner at the farmhouse in time. We just weren’t able to make any stops on our return back to Reykjavik after dinner, but completely understandable. The dinner at the farmhouse was fantastic and it really was an inviting and homey experience with the family. Our hostess was so sweet and friendly. She did ask we remove our shoes, which is completely understandable. We had been trekking through lava and mud after all and it is their home. It is honestly the respectful thing to do, but some on our tour were upset about this. Her floors were clean and warm and there was a nice spot to put our shoes inside. I mention this so that if you book this tour you are aware of this in the event you have difficulty removing your shoes due to any health issues (don’t let that stop you though, just let the guide know). Have already recommended this tour to friends and family.

Apart from the breathtaking landscapes, waterfalls; the major highlights of this tour were: (i) The enthusiasm of the guide who truly loves this place and tried his best to show the beauty to the tourists through his eyes (ii) Fish soup at Cafe Emil. BEST food i had in Iceland (iii) The dinner at a local farmhouse 'Lysuholl'. I will highly recommend to go there. Loved every bit of this tour.

It is really awesome to have a local dinner in the farm house, and explore the secret waterfall that was just breathtaking! The guide was nice and he enjoyed the tour a lot too. We felt like travelling with a friend!

We were a group of 6 that joined this tour with another 8, on our second day of arrival on 2nd march. It was awesome and served as an introduction to Iceland with breathtaking landscapes, waterfalls, ocean views and cold winds to remind you that this is Iceland. The driver-guide was just super, very knowledgeable, very accommodating and great fun from the moment that we were picked up. The dinner at the farm house was simply delicious and not to be missed. The view from the dinning room was just stunning and visiting the stables after dinner to see the Icelandic Horse was the icing on a well planned 12 hours tour. Awesome 5 stars tour and Highly recommended !!!!!!

Highly Recommend!!!!! This is a small group tour, we only had 3 people., so our guide Ingvar (not sure if it is spelling correctly.) was taking great care of us. This tour is so flexible as it does not have much travelers together. We could adjust our own schedule to decide how much time we spent in different destination. And the itinerary itself was great, there isn't any long journey on the car as there are so many things to see in Snæfellsnes. Another surprise was the home cooked dinner we had in the horse ranch, it was so delicious and we even had chances to spend some time with the cute Icelandic horse. This tour definitely worth the price!
