Description
Witness real lava in action in this 50-minute lava show in Reykjavik. Those who’d like to see a volcanic eruption up close, away from the dangers of an active volcano, should not miss the show.
This amazing lava show runs in Reykjavik. It does not have a pickup service, but if you’re coming from other parts of the city, you can ride a Straeto bus to Fiskislod. The lava show always starts on time, so arrive at least 15 minutes early.
The lava show will be hosted in English by a knowledgeable host. If you have questions, ask your host so he can answer them.
Since you’ll see lava up close, you and the other show participants will get security goggles to protect your eyes from the heat. Also, ensure you don’t take them off throughout the show. Although you’re not required to bring anything, if you booked online, you must show an electronic copy of your ticket at the counter.
Iceland has over 100 volcanoes, and around 32 of them are active. Although there are many lava fields in the country, it’s not every day that you can see a live volcano eruption with real lava flowing out of it. Fortunately, the lava show in Reykjavik can show you this breathtaking sight without worrying about the dangers of going near an erupting volcano.
Aside from the lava demonstration, you’ll also watch a short educational video about Iceland’s volcanoes.
The lava show is the only one of its kind in the world and is only shown in two parts of Iceland, Vik and Reykjavik. Thus, make sure that you take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The showroom can accommodate up to 88 people on the ground floor. However, if you and your group of up to 20 people prefer a private lava show, you’ll be watching from the upper floor’s balcony seats. Aside from the show, you’ll have access to a VIP area with a private bar, lounge, and restrooms.
This Icelandic day tour is safe and open to everyone of all ages. However, for safety reasons, pregnant women, people with their infant kids, and those with cardiovascular problems must sit at the back of the room.
The show ends after 50 minutes. But if you want an added backstage tour, there’s an additional 10 minutes after the lava show. After the display and the backstage tour, you can leave the building or go to its gift shop and buy some souvenirs to take home.
Be mesmerized by the fantastic nature of Iceland without having to leave the city in this lava show in Reykjavik. Check availability by choosing a date now!
