Join a northern lights super jeep tour from Reykjavik and head into the Icelandic countryside to look for the aurora. You travel in a custom 4x4 super jeep with a small group, an expert guide, and a professional photographer, for a good chance to see and photograph the northern lights.
Your tour also includes free entry to the Aurora Reykjavik Northern Lights Center. You can visit the museum at your leisure during regular opening hours, either before or after the tour. At the center, you learn the science and stories behind the aurora and watch a 4K film of the lights as they appear across Iceland. You can also use the photo booth inside the center to set up your camera before heading out for the real thing.
After dark, you're picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavik and board a super jeep built for Iceland's rugged terrain. Leaving the city behind, your guide takes you far from light pollution for clearer skies and a better chance of seeing the northern lights. Along the way, you see Iceland's fields, mountains, and open landscapes by night.
Your guide tracks cloud conditions and chooses the best location for sightings. They share insights about the aurora and photography tips, while a professional photographer takes photos of you with the northern lights in the background.
This small-group tour travels by super jeep, which, unlike large buses, can reach remote areas with good views. You can warm up with blankets, hot cocoa, and local pastries as you wait for the lights to appear.
When the aurora appears, you step outside to watch the northern lights move across the sky.
