Drive the Diamond Circle, a 155-mile (250-kilometer) sightseeing route in North Iceland, on this private tour from Akureyri, with stops from Godafoss Waterfall to Lake Myvatn.

You drive along Eyjafjordur Fjord, one of the longest fjords in Iceland, to the first stop, Godafoss Waterfall, the "Waterfall of the Gods," which plays an important part in Iceland's history. If you're lucky, you may see a rainbow, and your guide can give you tips on taking the best photos.
Next, you drive to Husavik Town, known from the film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, where you see its church and harbor. Then you visit a secret location near the Tjornes Peninsula, where puffins can be seen from June to the end of August.
The next stop is Asbyrgi Canyon, a horseshoe-shaped canyon surrounded by steep cliffs. Legend has it that it was formed by the hoofprint of Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse of the Norse god Odin. You then travel alongside the Hljodaklettar Cliffs, known for their echoes and the basalt columns of ancient crater remains.
Then you reach Dettifoss Waterfall, which is 148 feet (45 meters) high and 328 feet (100 meters) wide. Here, a mass of water, mud, and sand rumbles into a deep canyon. You also see Selfoss Waterfall nearby.
Next, you stop at the Hverir Geothermal Area by Namafjall Mountain, known for its boiling mud pits. You also take a short break at Viti Crater near Krafla Volcano, where your guide gives you tips on taking the best photos.
If time permits, you make a final stop at Grjotagja Cave to see the hot blue water inside, and you can take a photo standing between two tectonic plates. On the way back to Akureyri, you see Lake Myvatn.
