From Akureyri, you drive along Eyjafjordur, the longest fjord in Iceland, to Godafoss Waterfall, "the waterfall of the gods," where the river drops about 39 feet (12 meters).

Then you visit Dettifoss Waterfall, one of the most powerful waterfalls in Europe, which has appeared in films such as Prometheus, and the nearby Selfoss Waterfall.

At Lake Myvatn, which was formed by a basalt lava eruption about 2,300 years ago, you see the Skutustadagigar Pseudocraters, the bubbling mud pools of the Hverir Geothermal Area, and the natural steam vents of Hverarond at Namaskard Pass.

At Grjotagja, you see part of the rift between the North American and Eurasian plates and an old bathing cave. You also visit Namafjall Mountain and walk among the lava pillars of Dimmuborgir Lava Fields, known as the "Dark Castle."

Around the lake, you see Game of Thrones filming locations, including Hofdi, where scenes north of the Wall were filmed, as well as a Star Wars filming location.

The tour also includes time at Earth Lagoon Myvatn, a geothermal lagoon in the lava fields. You can bathe in the lagoon or relax in its Kvika Restaurant instead.

At the end of the day, you're dropped off in Akureyri or at Lake Myvatn.
