Description

Join this private tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula and travel this incredible landscape in comfort.

The Reykjanes peninsula is within an hours drive from Reykjavik.

On this tour, you will experience the magic in the youngest part of our country, including witnessing geothermal areas, volcanoes and endless lava fields.

First, your guide will drive you through Keflavik. If you are interested, you can make a stop at the Viking World, a Viking Age Museum.

Continue the journey and drive through Gardur, a small fishing village, to Sandvik. On the way, you will pass a beautiful little church called Hvalnes.

At Sandvik, you can see where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart. There you can walk over a small bridge connecting the plates known as the bridge between continents. You can see the North Atlantic ridge rises from the ocean.

Your next stop is at Reykjanes lighthouse. It stands on a hill above the sea cliffs where the Atlantic ridge rises above sea-level.

You will visit Gunnuhver, a hot spring in a geothermal area in Reykjanes where steam rises from the ground.

From Gunnuhver, the journey continues towards Grindavik, a small village where people have depended on fishing for centuries.

On the way, visit Brimketill, a peculiar pool in the coastline. The constant friction of the ocean with the lava rocks created the small pool.

Not far from Grindavik is The Blue Lagoon, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland.

Your guide is keen to meet your wishes, so slightly changing a plan is not a problem. Your guide can also offer extra stops on the way if there are specific places you wish to visit.

Book now and enjoy travelling around the diverse landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula.
