Enjoy two of the greatest wonders of Icelandic nature: geothermal water and Northern Lights. Most coming to Iceland should leap at the chance to experience both with a single, luxurious bus ride. On this tour, you'll bathe in the magical Secret Lagoon, enjoy local cuisine and join a hunt for the Aurora Borealis.

Your journey starts with a drive through the magnificent landscape of the Icelandic countryside. You'll have beautiful scenery on both sides, lava fields, plateaus and farmlands, and in the distance, the silent mountains, glaciers and mighty volcanos. Finally, you will reach Flúðir, a tiny village about 100 kilometres drive from the capital Reykjavík area.

'The Old Pool', as the locals call the Secret Lagoon, holds the same heat all year round, a very comfortable 38–40 °C, and is, simply put, enchanting. In the midst of the unspoiled terrain, you find yourself surrounded by thermal activity, boiling water and rising steam. Once every few minutes a hot spring erupts nearby, the one they call “Lil’ Geysir.”

The facilities are thoughtfully constructed with private showers, a welcoming bar and a cosy seating area.

After the refreshing soak, it is time for a light meal. Restaurant Grund offers an exquisite buffet-style selection of Icelandic food and delicacies for travellers on this tour. One should never go out hunting for the dancing polar lights on an empty stomach.

Now, it is time for the final act of the evening, the search for the Northern Lights. Your guide will set the course for Reykjavík again, looking for the perfect viewing spots on the way. The very capable staff are experts when it comes to the surroundings, the lights and best possible outcome, but keep an eye out the window for the auroras in case you spot them first.

Seeing the mighty Northern Lights dance on the pitch-black arctic sky is an encounter impossible to portray in words. It is recommended that you bring your camera, but more importantly, you're encouraged to set your equipment aside once you have captured your shot. After all, you will want to enjoy the moment, and don't want to waste the experience staring through a tiny window on a screen.

Make the most of the aurora borealis and Iceland's geothermal waters. Check availability by choosing a date.

Best day of my travels. The meal was absolutely amazing and I preferred the Secret Lagoon over the Blue Lagoon 20 times over. Also the guide was amazing. Taught me how to take better pictures of the northern lights and was super kind and just wonderful!
