Description

Swim like a fish through the crystal clear waters of Silfra Fissure, in Þingvellir National Park, with this amazing nighttime freediving tour. This is a great opportunity for both experienced freedivers and newcomers to the sport, allowing participants to experience Silfra under the cover the starlight.

Depending on your pick-up option, you will either be transferred from your accommodation in Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park or meet your friendly and experienced freediving guides in the Silfra car park. Once there, you will meet up with the rest of your group and be briefed on the activity ahead.

Your guide will provide information on everything, from how to use the equipment to the origins of Silfra’s glacial water. They also ensure to teach you the correct breathing techniques in order to stay under the water for greater lengths, thus allowing you greater freedom to explore the site.

To keep you warm throughout the experience, you will be adorned in a wetsuit, as well as neoprene hoods and gloves. You will also be taught how to correctly use your mask, snorkel and fins, making your freediving experience in Silfra Fissure all the easy. You will also be provided with a torch in order to navigate the fissure throughout the tour.

When you finally take to the water, you will be amazed by the stunning visibility—often up to 100 metres—as well as the dark shades of blue, the submerged canyons and the luminous “Troll Hair” algae. With Silfra’s deepest point reaching roughly twenty-five metres, you’ll have the freedom to hone your freediving skills throughout the fissure.

Don’t miss your chance to dive like a fish around the gorgeous Silfra glacial spring, found in Þingvellir National Park, and you too can experience one of Iceland’s most popular attractions. Check availability by choosing a date.
