After getting picked up from selected locations in the city of Reykjavík, get ready to venture along the scenic west coast of the country.
Upon reaching the peninsula, get ready to behold a mosaic collage of different sights. Your first stop is the moss-covered Berserkjahraun lava field, formed by an eruption 4,000 years ago. You will travel to the idyllic fishing village of Grundafjörður, situated between the sea and a mountain range. Towering over this charming hamlet is Mt. Kirkjufell, an iconic mountain and a favourite of photography enthusiasts from all over the world. Nearby, Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall frames the classic view of the mountain.
You will also be visiting the fishing village Arnarstapi at the foot of Mt. Stapafell, a place of ancient folklore, located in a coastal scenery of varied rock formations and steep sea cliffs. Here you can walk across a natural sea-bridge, where the waves have carved the cliff into a stone arch. Close by is the village of Hellnar, an ancient fishing town and a central port of call back in the Middle Ages. Along this coast, you will also see the Lóndrangar basalt pinnacles rising from the sea.

Snæfellsjökull is a 700.000-year old stratovolcano with a glacier cap covering its summit. This mountain was the very location of the entrance to the earth’s hidden core in Jules Verne’s classic novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
Before heading back to Reykjavík, you will visit the striking Búðir Black Church and Ytri Tunga beach, where seals often rest on the rocks just offshore.
