Description

Discover one of Iceland’s must-see attractions with the Hidden Circle Tour. This is the perfect way to see the Golden Circle in a more intimate setting making for an incredibly memorable experience.

This day tour is perfect for those who want to see all of the attractions of the Golden Circle, but would rather travel in a small group of 5 people or less with a friendly, experienced guide. This tour also includes a few short hikes making it a more active experience.

This tour will take you into the Þjórsárdalur valley where you´ll stop by Hjálparfoss waterfall where two rivers cascade down lava rock at a 45-degree angle. You will then be accompanied by your guide to Háifoss waterfall. Its name means ‘High Waterfall’ and cascading over a 122-metre drop it’s easy to see why. You will have the opportunity to see the waterfall both its peak and its base, enjoying a walk between the two points through the canyon, which takes about an hour.

You will then travel back down the Þjórsádalur valley towards the Hvíta river to see the famous Gullfoss waterfall. The unique part of this leg of your trip is that you will be seeing this magnificent waterfall from the eastern side, a few not many get to see. This unique perspective is very different from the one most tourists are used to seeing. The hike to the eastern side of the waterfall is approximately half an hour through an incredible canyon.

You will then be taken to the Geysir geothermal area. Here you will be able to see Iceland’s most active geyser ‘Strokkur’ which forces a jet of water up to 20 metres in the air every 5 minutes. Here you will stop for a well-deserved lunch break.

You will then move on to Þingvellir National Park where you will learn about the historical, cultural and geological significance of this incredible place. It is here that the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Þingvellir is also the place chosen by Norwegian settlers to establish a parliament around the year 930 AD, making this UNESCO heritage area the site of the oldest parliament in the world. Þingvellir is widely considered the birthplace of the Icelandic nation. This area is of considerable significance and also holds incredible natural beauty.

You will then travel back to Reykjavík, having soaked up the fascinating and beautiful sights and sounds of the Golden Circle uniquely and intimately.

Don’t miss the chance to see this popular attraction in a more intimate setting. Pick a date to check availability.
