Explore a natural ice cave in Vatnajokull Glacier, the largest glacier in Europe, on this small-group tour from Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon, with up to 12 travelers per guide.
The tour suits nature lovers and photographers who want to see the blue ice of a natural ice cave.
Your tour starts at Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon in Southeast Iceland, at the foot of Vatnajokull National Park, about 224 miles (360 kilometers) east of Reykjavik.
From there, a super jeep takes you into the wilderness toward Breidamerkurjokull Glacier, an outlet glacier of Vatnajokull, where the blue ice cave is. On the way, Vatnajokull Glacier grows larger on the horizon.
You then hike to the ice cave. The cave changes constantly, so every visit is different, and the departure time is chosen to avoid crowds, so you can explore the ice cave at your own pace.
Your guide tells you about the glacier's formation and the features of the ice cave.
