Join this budget-friendly combo of both whale watching and puffin watching from Reykjavík Harbour and maximise your travel experience in Iceland. If you are a lover of wildlife and want to see Iceland’s most impressive animals without leaving the capital, this is the tour for you.

Your adventure begins at the Old Harbour in the city centre of Reykjavík, where you will meet up with your experienced local guides and prepare for a short and scenic boat ride to the bay's islands, to feast your eyes on the adorable North Atlantic Puffin.

Thousands of puffins migrate from the open seas to Iceland each year to nest and breed, and many are found in the water venue of your adventure, Faxaflói Bay. The drought of your boat, Skúlaskeið, is particularly shallow, enabling you to venture close enough to these beautiful, unshy seabirds to snap photos to your heart’s content.

After returning to shore, you can have a lunch break in the city before heading back into the waters for a whale watching adventure. If you feel a tinge of seasickness, don’t worry, you can use your whale watching voucher on another day.

You’ll choose between two different vessels, each with their own merits, depending on what kind of experience you are looking for. One boat is called Rósin, an express boat that enables you to sail with greater speed into the whale inhabited area of Faxaflói Bay.

The other boat is Andrea, the biggest whale watching vessel in Iceland, with an educational and interactive focus perfect for families. This beautiful boat contains a cafeteria onboard, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant experience in the waters.

The majestic water giants you can expect to see include minke and humpback whales, as well as white-beaked dolphins and harbour porpoises. Sometimes, you are even lucky enough to spot fin whales, orcas or blue whales, the latter of which is the largest mammal on planet Earth.

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to get up close and personal with the beautiful animals of Iceland’s ocean waters. Check availability by choosing a date.
