Autocar is fantastic. Just give them a call when you land and they will arrange a shuttle from the airport (don't bother trying to read all the clipboards of shuttles as you exit passport control). When our flight to the Faroe Islands was cancelled, they found a car for us for our two day layover when everyone else was sold out. Communication was also excellent.
I had the best care rental experiences renting a car through Auto Car Rental. The people working there are so kind and were understanding of some difficulties I was having with the time zone as I am from a different country. When I made a mistake during the drop off process the workers were patient with me and went above and beyond when providing lenience and understanding. Also they were happy to walked through everything with me regarding the car. It was really nice to have the portable Wi-Fi and I highly recommend getting the highest level of car protection due to the nature of Iceland. My experience with this car truly made my visit to Iceland, so convenient and enjoyable. I’m so glad that I decided to rent a car through them as opposed to taking a travel bus. It gave me the autonomy to visit all the places I was hoping to and more. The company was happy to help provide direct transportation to the car rental and provides options for drop off at different locations. The employees are very personable and seem to be genuinely interested in how my vacation went and told me some beautiful places to visit, including the Westin Islands. I couldn’t have asked for a better car rental experience. If I ever go back to Iceland, I will definitely be renting through auto Car Rental again.
Collected me from the airport as planned and took me to the vehicle down town. Paperwork was simple and all explained. Vehicle was 3 years old and sound with a full tank. Dropped the car near the airport when finished. All good.
