Hazards of pulling overDear travelers,

Please do not park your vehicles in the middle of the road. Especially not when the road is narrow or visibility is poor. Stopping abruptly just because you see Icelandic horses in an Icelandic pasture is not a good idea. You are not only putting yourself or your rental cars (which you probably paid a lot for) at risk, but also other road users! Just take a few extra steps or wait until you find a safe place to pull over.

The speed limit on country roads is 90 km/h, and that's what people do here. At least. With the usually low traffic volume, you don't expect to find a car parked around the next bend. Or two. Or even more. This simply doesn't work! Honestly, it can get pretty tight pretty quickly for a tour bus and oncoming traffic. You want to return from your trip safe and sound, don't you? If you really can't find a suitable place to stop, just keep driving. There are plenty of horses here. You're sure to get another chance to get close to them. Please don't endanger your life or the lives of other road users through carelessness. Be careful!
