Narfeyrarstofa is a charming and very welcoming restaurant in Stykkishólmur, a family business and a gem in this wonderful city that I love so much and that makes me always want to come back!

It is right in the heart of the city with stunning views of the port of Stykkishólmur and has a very cozy and romantic atmosphere!

In December of last year, Steina invited me to come and try the menu, which I accepted with great enthusiasm, wasn’t I a "good eater"! 😀

I went there recently and today I share my experience with you.

Steina and Sæþór are very sweet and welcomed us very well. The restaurant is very beautiful and very welcoming, one of those places that make you feel good.

In the basement there is a bar that has been recently renovated and is perfect for a drink before moving on to the restaurant upstairs.

There are two floors where you can eat, but the top floor is my favourite. It is very elegant and well decorated and with incredible views!

This restaurant is located in a very old and very charming house that Steina and Sæþór bought in 2001 and which they have made incredible changes over the years!

Here, only ingredients grown in the region are used and the menu is always based on local food that exists at each time of the year.

I let Steina decide and surprise us with what we were going to eat, and the food arrived at the table, each dish prettier than the other! 😍

As starters we had fish soup made with a divine broth of lobster cheese, shrimp and scallops, we also had lightly cooked scallops cooked in brown butter, yuzu and soya and tataki whale served with pickled ginger, wakame salad, crispy leeks and soya dijon glaze.

The starters were delicious and full of flavor! Very well made and beautifully presented!

Then came the main dishes and these were pan fried scallops with quinoa, herb dressing and parmesan, Fillet of cod served with green pea purée potatoes and creamed cabbage and last dish was Arctic char served on barley with marinated cucumber and sesam vinaigrette.

It's hard to say which was my favorite dish as they were all divine but I'm a huge fan of scallops so everything I ate with scallops was something beyond sublime! 👌🏻

The chef is Sæþór, Steina's husband and he is fantastic at what he does and that could be seen in every detail, even the smallest ones. All the food we tried was perfection!

Narfeyrarstofa é um restaurante charmoso e muito acolhedor em Stykkishólmur, de negócio familar e uma peróla nesta cidade tao maravilhosa pela qual eu tenho muito carinho e que me faz sempre querer voltar!

Encontra-se bem no coração da cidade com vistas deslumbrantes para o porto de Stykkishólmur e tem uma atmosfera bem cozy e romântica!

Em dezembro do ano passado, a Steina convidou-me a conhecê-lo e a provar o menú ao qual eu aceitei com muito entusiasmo, não fosse eu “um bom garfo”! 😀

Fui conhecê-lo recentemente e partilho convosco a minha experiência.

A Steina e o Sæþór são muito queridos e receberam-nos muito bem. O restaurante é muito bonito e muito acolhedor, daqueles sítios que nos fazem sentir bem. 

Na cave é um bar que foi renovado recentemente e é perfeito para beber um copo antes de passar para a parte de cima, o restaurante.

Existem dois pisos onde se pode comer, porém o ultimo piso é o meu preferido. É muito elegante e bem decorado e com vistas incríveis!

Este restaurante esta situado numa casa muito antiga e muito linda que a Steina e o Sæþór compraram em 2001 e que têm feito ao longo dos anos mudanças incríveis! 

Aqui sao utilizados apenas ingredientes cultivados na região e o menú é sempre baseado na comida local que existe em  cada altura do ano.

Deixei que fosse a Steina a decidir e a surpreender-nos com o que iriamos comer, e a comida foi chegando á mesa, cada prato mais bonito que o outro! 😍

Como entradas tivemos sopa de peixe feita com um caldo divinal de queijo de lagosta, camarão e vieiras, tivemos também vieiras levemente cozinhadas em manteiga castanha , yuzu e soja e por fim baleia tataki servida com gengibre em conserva com salada wakame, alho francês crocante e cobertura de soja dijon.

As entradas estavam deliciosas e com muito sabor! Muito bem confeccionadas e com uma apresentação linda!

De seguida vieram os pratos principais e esses foram; vieiras fritas com quinoa, molho de ervas e parmesão, filé de bacalhau servido com puré de ervilha e creme de repolho. Por último tivemos char do ártico servido em cevada com pepino marinado e vinagrete de sésamo.

É dificil dizer qual foi o prato que mais gostei pois todos eles estavam divinais mas sou uma grande fã de vieiras e portanto tudo o que comi com vieiras foi qualquer coisa de para lá de sublime!

O chefe é o Sæþór, o marido da Steina e ele é fantástico naquilo que faz e isso poderia ver-se em todos os detalhes, mesmos nos mais pequenos.Toda a comida que experimentámos estava na perfeição!
