Reykjavík bacon festival 2014

OHHHH BACON! Who doesn't like bacon? Glorious, glorious bacon?! And/or all other foods there are?

This is a shout out to all the food lovers out there :)

Reykjavík Bacon Festival is held Saturday 15th of August 2015. The festival has been running since 2011, so this will be the 5th time the festival takes place.

OHHHH BACON is the slogan of the festival. Which makes sense, right?

To enjoy the festivities, simply head to Skólavörðustígur, the road in front of the big church (Hallgrímskirkja), you know, the one that's painted like a rainbow now, and eat some bacon! :)

If you feel like eating something else than bacon but still want to check out a food market, then simply head down to Fógetagarður park for Krás food street market, that takes place every Saturday in July and August this year. Some of Reykjavík's finest bars and restaurants prepare small treats for people to sample, for a moderate price.

Right next to Fógetagarður (sheriff's garden) is the craft beer pub Skúli Fógeti (Skúli the sheriff), perfect for a nice craft beer to go with your food.

And if you're a food lover (like me!) then I recommend you check out these food and drink tours of Reykjavík: Reykjavík by food or The Icelandic Beer Tour, in case one day of food marketing isn't enough!

My love for food has been growing in recent years, so if anyone here wants to ask me about Icelandic food or restaurant tips, please do :) Or even better, share with me some exciting recipes or stories of great places you've been to eat in Iceland!
