A superb experience. The guide, Filip was superb and adjust the scheule to the needs of the participants. I was truly impressed by his detailed knowlwedge of the site, Iceland's hisotry and geology. He went out of his way to make the participants comfortable. For example at the end of the tour, when I requested if it was possible to leave me at the pool, he drove to Vesturbæjarlaug so that I could go swimming and sit in the hot baths. Filip is superb.

The tour is very comprehensive. The guide, Lori, explained everything in detail, answered questions, and was always very attentive to the whole group. Excellent guide. The second day was quite intense, especially the glacier section. They said it was easy, but you have to walk quite a bit on uneven terrain, and you have to bring water to stay hydrated, which I didn't do because I thought it would be easier, and they told us to carry as little as possible. Everything was very safe. The first hotel was fine with near restaurants; the second one was in the middle of nowhere, but you still arrive late and tired. The breakfasts at both hotels were very complete and had a good variety. They completed the entire itinerary. If you want a complete tour of all the areas of interest with a guide, this is the perfect one.

Our third and final tour and probably my favourite one. A different tour company than the previous two but it was just as good an experience. No problems with the pick-up again from just outside our hotel. A new tour guide; local Icelandic guy. Snaefellsnes Peninsula is a little further away from Reykjavik than the previous two tours so the drive out was a little longer. The longer drive and longer wait was worth it though. We saw seals, Orca (maybe they were looking for the seals too), incredible coastal features and black sand beaches, a couple of churches and Kirkjufell, the most photographed mountain in Iceland for good reason. The miles and miles of moss and grass covered lava fields possess a beauty and a mystique all of their own. It is impossible to describe and explain why this tour is so magical, it just is.
