Guide to Iceland Affiliate Terms and Conditions
These Affiliate Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Guide to Iceland affiliate program. By joining the program, the affiliate agrees to comply with the terms below.
1. Affiliate Program
Guide to Iceland may allow selected partners, publishers, content creators, websites, agencies, and other approved parties to participate in its affiliate program. Affiliates may promote Guide to Iceland products and services using approved affiliate links, tracking links, or other materials provided or approved by Guide to Iceland.
Guide to Iceland reserves the right to approve, reject, suspend, or terminate any affiliate’s participation in the program at its sole discretion.
2. Commission Rate
The starting commission rate for affiliates is 5% of the eligible net booking value, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Commission is calculated only on eligible bookings that are successfully completed, paid for, and not cancelled, refunded, charged back, disputed, or otherwise invalidated.
Guide to Iceland covers applicable payment processing fees related to the customer’s transaction. Such payment fees will not be charged to the affiliate.
3. Commission Tracking and Cookie Duration
Affiliate links are tracked for 30 days after a user clicks on the affiliate link.
If the user makes one or more eligible bookings within 30 days of clicking the affiliate link, the affiliate may be eligible to receive commission on all eligible bookings made by that user during that 30-day period, even if the user originally clicked only one affiliate link or one specific product link.
For example, if a user clicks an affiliate link to one tour but then books several tours, activities, vacation packages, rental cars, hotels, or other eligible Guide to Iceland products within the 30-day tracking period, the affiliate may receive commission on all eligible bookings, subject to these Terms and Conditions.
If the user clicks multiple affiliate links before completing a booking, Guide to Iceland’s tracking system will determine attribution. Guide to Iceland’s tracking records shall be the final basis for determining whether a commission is payable.
4. Commission Increases
Any increase in commission rate is entirely at the discretion of Guide to Iceland.
Commission increases may be considered based on affiliate performance, including but not limited to:
-
Number of referred bookings
-
Booking value generated
-
Quality of traffic
-
Conversion rate
-
Brand alignment
-
Compliance with these Terms and Conditions
-
Long-term partnership value
Affiliates are not automatically entitled to a higher commission rate, regardless of sales volume or performance. Any change to commission rates must be confirmed by Guide to Iceland in writing.
5. Eligible Bookings
A booking is eligible for commission only when:
-
The booking was made through a valid affiliate link or approved tracking method
-
The booking was successfully paid for by the customer
-
The service has been rendered
-
The booking has not been cancelled, refunded, disputed, or charged back
-
The affiliate has complied with these Terms and Conditions
No commission is payable on fraudulent bookings, self-referrals, test bookings, duplicate bookings, bookings made using unauthorized methods, or bookings generated in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
6. Payment Timing
Commission payments are made only after the relevant travel service has been rendered.
Payments will not be processed earlier than 7 days after the service has been rendered. This period allows Guide to Iceland to verify that the booking was completed and that no cancellation, refund, dispute, or other issue affects the commission.
Guide to Iceland may delay payment if additional verification is required.
7. Invoicing Requirements
Affiliates must send a valid invoice to Guide to Iceland in order to receive payment.
The invoice must include all information reasonably required by Guide to Iceland, including but not limited to:
-
Affiliate name or company name
-
Address
-
Tax identification number, VAT number, or equivalent, where applicable
-
Invoice number
-
Invoice date
-
Payment details
-
Commission amount being invoiced
-
Any other information required by applicable law or requested by Guide to Iceland
Guide to Iceland is not responsible for delayed payments caused by missing, incorrect, or incomplete invoice information.
Affiliates are responsible for determining and paying any taxes, duties, or other charges that apply to commission payments received from Guide to Iceland.
8. Payment Method
Payments will be made using the payment method approved by Guide to Iceland. Guide to Iceland may request additional information from the affiliate to process payments.
Any bank fees, currency conversion costs, intermediary bank charges, or similar costs charged to the affiliate by third parties are the responsibility of the affiliate, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9. Cancellations, Refunds, and Chargebacks
If a booking is cancelled, refunded, partially refunded, charged back, disputed, or otherwise reversed, no commission will be payable on the affected amount.
If commission has already been paid on a booking that is later cancelled, refunded, charged back, or disputed, Guide to Iceland may deduct the corresponding amount from future payments or request repayment from the affiliate.

14. Program Changes
Guide to Iceland may change, suspend, or discontinue the affiliate program at any time.
Guide to Iceland may also update these Terms and Conditions, commission rates, payment rules, tracking rules, or eligibility requirements. Continued participation in the affiliate program after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Termination
Either party may end the affiliate relationship at any time.
Guide to Iceland may immediately suspend or terminate an affiliate’s participation if the affiliate breaches these Terms and Conditions, engages in fraudulent or misleading activity, harms the Guide to Iceland brand, or acts in a way that Guide to Iceland considers inappropriate or damaging.
Upon termination, the affiliate must stop using Guide to Iceland affiliate links, tracking links, brand assets, and promotional materials.
Commission earned before termination may be paid if the bookings are valid, eligible, completed, and compliant with these Terms and Conditions. Guide to Iceland may withhold payment for any commissions connected to suspected fraud, abuse, breach of terms, or disputed activity.
16. Limitation of Liability
Guide to Iceland is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, or loss of business opportunity arising from participation in the affiliate program.
