This was the highlight of our recent trip to Iceland - it was such an amazing experience! The guides were fabulous, the dogs were amazing - everything was just 5 star! The sun even came out for us! Would highly recommend it!

Our first tour was canceled due to the severe storm, luckily rebooking was so easy. We dropped another scheduled tour to go on this one and it was so worth it. I could cry thinking about this experience. We got to meet all the dogs before we went out. Then each of us got a chance to drive the sled. We had a chance to take lots of pictures. The team was so friendly and the dogs were so excited. I loved every minute. This should be on everyone’s bucket list. I was worried about finding the location because it was so detailed in the email, but it turns out it was easy enough to find and it was just them taking good care of us by sending all the details.

This trip was so much fun. Despite the rain turning the snow into a cold wet slush and with a mix of rain and snow falling, neither the guides nor the dogs lost their enthusiasm for the tour. The owner was experienced, informative and a genuinely nice person. It was clear she took good care of the dogs and they absolutely loved their job. So much so that when they need to stop, the sled has to be anchored into the ice to keep the dogs from running off with it. The dogs are full of personality and love to be petted. I’ll be plucking dog hair off of my gloves until next winter. Booking the trip was effortless through guidetoiceland.com and it was easy to make changes when we had to move things around due to scheduling conflicts. The directions to the meeting place are excellent and we were kept informed about the tour — and any potential changes due to weather — throughout. They set the bar high on how to run tours. Pro tip: bring waterproof clothes. The sleds can — and do — kick up a lot of snow and slush.
