The Lava Tunnel

Juan was an excellent tour guide. We had to wait a little bit for the tour to begin but I understand you can’t have too many people trekking in the cave at one time. It was COLD so dress accordingly. I would recommend this tour especially if you only have a little bit of time.

Guide was very knowledgeable and the cave is very cool. Best part is where they turn the lights off and you get to experience absolute darkness.

ピックアップバスでBSIターミナルまで行き、大型バスに乗り換えて行きました。本当にここに洞窟があるのだろうかと思うところに建物につき、他の乗客と建物内でしばらく待っていると、洞窟のスタッフから説明があり、ツアーがスタートしました。想像していたよりも大きな洞窟でした。この前に訪れた氷の洞窟が想像より小さいものでした（温暖化で大きいものは無くなっているのかもしれませんね）ので、まずはサイズで気分も高まりました。ライトアップされて様々な色をしている岩、壁（シリカなど鉱物の影響で違うようですが、英語なのでうまくは聞き取れませんでした）は見事でした。洞窟の奥で案内スタッフがライトを消した時に味わった本当の暗闇（目が慣れることがない）の世界は怖いぐらいで、ぜひ味わってほしいです。
