MF as they look to bolster midfield - and consider signing him if he fails to re-sign
Barcelona are monitoring the situation of Arsenal midfielder Jorginho, 33.
Spanish outlet 'Sport' reported on Monday (June 28) that "Jorginho continues to attract Barcelona's attention. He is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season. However, new negotiations have not yet begun and Jorginho's agent has stated that he is open to evaluating offers from other clubs."
This is not the first time Jorginho has been linked to Barcelona. Barcelona have been in direct contact with Jorginho's agent João Santos in the past and have discussed a possible move to Barcelona. Since Jorginho's time at Chelsea, Barcelona have been targeting him as a replacement for Sergio Busquets.
Heading into this season, Jorginho continued to be linked with Barcelona. Barcelona strengthened by bringing in Oriol Romeu to replace Busquets, who left for the United States, but lost key midfielder Gabi to injury midway through the season, and Jorginho was again linked with a move.
Jorginho has been playing a backup role for Arsenal this season. Jorginho, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in the winter transfer window last season, has been pushed aside by new signing Declan Rice. He has made 18 league appearances this season, but only eight starts.
Additionally, Jorginho's contract with Arsenal 스포츠토토 expires at the end of the season. However, he has yet to sign a new contract and his future remains uncertain.
This is a great opportunity for Barcelona to sign Jorginho. Barcelona, who are currently struggling financially, will be able to sign Jorginho on a free transfer if he fails to re-sign with Arsenal.
Jorginho is also positive about joining Barcelona. Santos has claimed that Jorginho would be happy to join the Spanish scene, especially Barcelona.
