LG Twins manager Yoon Kyung-yeop applauded his players after their second straight victory.
The Twins defeated the NC Dinos 11-4 on Thursday at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, in a regular-season home game of the 2024 KBO Baseball League. With the win, LG improved to 27 wins, two ties, and 23 losses.
The offense exploded for 14 hits and 11 runs, with Austin Dean (3-for-1, 3 RBI) and Park Dong-won (4-for-2, 2 home runs, 3 RBI) leading the way with game-winning hits. Koo Bon-hyuk (3-for-1, 3 RBI), Hong Chang-ki (4-for-3, 1 RBI), and Moon Sung-ju (5-for-3, 1 RBI) also provided solid support.
After the game, coach Yoon Kyung-yeop said, “Hong Chang-ki and Moon Sung-ju had three hits each to open the game for us. Austin and Koo Bon-hyeok also had three hits each to make the game easy for us,” and gave a thumbs-up to Park Dong-won for his back-to-back home runs to seal the win when we needed extra runs.
The performance of starting pitcher Choi Won-tae is also worth mentioning. Despite his early struggles, Choi pitched six innings, allowing three runs on six hits, one home run, four walks, and three strikeouts to earn his sixth win of 토토 the season (2-2).
“Won-tae Choi was off-balance early on, but he took charge of his innings and did a great job as a starter,” Yoon said with a bright smile.
“I think I played LG's best baseball in a long time. I hope that the batting pace will increase from today.”
Finally, Yoon said, “I think the batting lineup broke out today because a lot of fans came and supported us for the weekend series,” and left the field saying, “Thank you for your warm support.”
Meanwhile, LG, who will try to secure a third straight win and a three-game sweep of the best-of-three series on Friday, will send left-hander Son Ju-young (2-3, 3.89 ERA) to the mound. NC will counter with right-hander Lee Yong-joon (1.80 ERA).
