Day 1 - Arrival in Iceland and exploring Reykjavik

On the first day of your three-day stopover package in Iceland, you'll arrive in the country and discover its capital city, Reykjavik.

When you land at Keflavik International Airport, collect your luggage and head outside, where your transfer will await you.

From the airport, you'll drive through the Keflavikurhraun lava field. This lava field was formed during some of the volcanic activity that Iceland is known for. Lava formations, including volcanic craters and steam vents, dominate this blackened, rugged terrain.

This journey is an excellent introduction to the land of ice and fire, where you'll spend the next three days.

Afterward, your driver will transport you to Reykjavik, the world's northernmost capital city. The city has world-class restaurants, gourmet coffee shops, live music events, and exciting sights.

You could visit one of the many museums here to learn about Icelandic history and culture. The National Museum of Iceland presents a captivating journey through the nation's history, displaying artifacts from the Viking Age to modern times.

To learn about the country's unique traditions, the Arbaer Open Air Museum offers a glimpse into Iceland's rural past with traditional buildings and exhibitions.

The Icelandic Phallological Museum, perhaps the quirkiest attraction, features a collection of phallic specimens from various animals.

There are also several art galleries to enjoy in the city. The Reykjavik Art Museum showcases contemporary Icelandic and international art in three distinct locations across the city.

If you want to do some shopping, head to Laugavegur shopping street. This vibrant street stretches through the city's heart, offering a mix of modern boutiques, trendy cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

Known for its lively atmosphere, Laugavegur shopping street is bustling with locals and tourists, especially during summer.

The street is also home to various art galleries, music venues, and theaters, making it a cultural event and entertainment hub.

As you stroll along Laugavegur shopping street, you'll encounter colorful street art and experience the unique charm of Reykjavik's urban culture, making it an essential destination for any visitor to the Icelandic capital.

You'll spend tonight in comfortable accommodation in Reykjavik.

Day 2 - The Golden Circle Sightseeing Route

On the second day of your vacation package in Iceland, you'll explore the Golden Circle sightseeing route's three features: Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss waterfall.

The Golden Circle is one of the best-known routes in Iceland, loved by locals and travelers alike.

Your first stop will be the Thingvellir National Park, also known as Parliament Park, as the world's first democratic parliament was founded there over a thousand years ago.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the nation's heart, standing on the continental rift between Europe and America.

Your next stop will be the saga-filled Haukadalur geothermal area, where Geysir resides, surrounded by smaller geysers and hot springs. Although Geysir is no longer active, you'll still see geothermal activity during your visit.

Strokkur is a geyser so powerful that its eruptions can reach up to 197 feet (60 meters) high every 10 minutes.

All around the area, exotic colors paint images on the clay, creating an alien landscape with the perfect mixture of raw earth and steaming water.

Your last stop is the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, which drops in three steps nearly 262 feet (80 meters) into the canyon below. You can walk on a pathway to the rushing water and feel the glacial water splash over you as it plummets.

If you are looking for adventure, you have various options to make your day on the Golden Circle a thrilling experience.

You can snorkel between the continents in the Silfra fissure at Thingvellir National Park. These are some of the clearest waters in the world, with excellent visibility. Participants need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim.

If you'd rather keep dry, you can go on a horse riding tour in the area on the well-loved Icelandic horse, known for their friendly nature.

If you prefer a faster ride, a trip to the Langjokull glacier is for you, where snowmobiles await you on the great white ice planes.

On the way back to the city after the Golden Circle tour, you'll stop at the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa for a sensory experience unique to Iceland. Release all your tension, letting the azure waters soothe tired muscles and joints.

Please note that if you have arranged additional activities with your Golden Circle tour, such as snorkeling, horseback riding, or snowmobiling, your visit to the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa will be scheduled on either your arrival or departure day instead, so you will have time to take full advantage of its restorative powers.

The spa is world-famous for its healing, mineral-rich waters and is not a place you want to rush.

After this incredible day, you will return to the city for the night and spend another evening in your accommodation in Reykjavik.

Day 3 - Whale watching or Helicopter Ride

On the third and final day of your stopover package in Iceland, it's time to enjoy your last adventures in the country before you head home.

If you have an early flight, enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before leaving for the airport.

If your flight leaves in the afternoon or evening, you have time for more exploring.

You could take a whale-watching tour from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik. You'll enjoy breathtaking views of Iceland's rugged coastline as you depart before having the chance to spot humpback, minke, and orca whales.

Your experienced guide will tell you more about the whales and their habitat. During the trip, you may also get to see dolphins and a variety of seabirds, including the puffins that nest at Akurey Island on Faxafloi Bay.

Today's final option is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to embark on a one-hour helicopter ride over the Fagradalsfjall volcano.

This tour includes a short landing by the eruption site and departs from Reykjavik's Domestic Airport, allowing you to witness the capital from a breathtaking aerial perspective.

At the end of your day of sightseeing, you will board a bus and get your last glimpse of Iceland as you head to Keflavik International Airport. Once you reach the airport, you'll have time to enjoy a meal or drink while waiting to board.
