Your heliskiing adventure starts with a transfer from your preferred pick-up point. Choose from Keflavik International Airport, your accommodation in Reykjavik, or Akureyri. You'll also be dropped off back here once the tour has finished.
During the tour, you'll explore the mountains around Siglufjordur and Olafsfjordur towns in North Iceland. Participants have around one hour of helicopter flying time, with approximately eight ski runs daily. Heliskiing is suitable for intermediate backcountry skiers who are in good physical shape.
On your first day of heliskiing, you'll meet with your expert mountain guide and receive your high-performance skis and bindings. Your mountain team will give you a full safety briefing and avalanche safety equipment before you set off.
Then it'll be time to hit the slopes for the first time. Nordurflug's Astar B2 helicopter will fly you to mountain peaks otherwise inaccessible to skiers. Heliskiing allows you to explore remote areas and gives you the freedom to move quickly and easily from one slope to the next.
You'll have your choice of untouched slopes and fresh, powdery runs. You can ski in unspoiled environments without making long journeys up the mountain with your gear.
Each day, your ski guides choose the best runs according to the weather conditions. Their choices will ensure you have the most fun on the slopes while being as safe as possible.
During your heliskiing tour, you'll stay at Soti Lodge, a quality ski lodge–style accommodation. The helicopter can take off outside the property, so you won't have far to travel each morning. What's more, all your meals are included in the price of the tour.
Each day will begin with a delicious breakfast buffet to give you all the energy you need for the day ahead. You'll indulge in a specially prepared mountain lunch between runs, with a three-course meal back at the lodge for dinner. Apres-ski snacks are also available.
After a busy day on the slopes, it's time for relaxation. Soti Lodge has a pool, hot tub, and sauna, perfect for rejuvenating tired muscles. Participants also have access to a floatation relaxation program.

Day 1 - Arrival at Soti Lodge
On the first day of your exciting heliskiing adventure, you’ll be picked up from a location of your choice. Transfers are available from Keflavik International airport, Reykjavik or Akureyri.
The flexible availability of transfers means that this is a great tour to take on arrival in Iceland or once you’ve had time to explore Reykjavik and its surroundings.
Your drive will take you to your accommodation for the next four days, Soti Lodge. This quality ski lodge–style accommodation has a swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna. It’s the perfect place to relax for the rest of the day.
You’ll also enjoy a three-course dinner in the evening, specially created with local produce to give you a taste of Iceland.
When you’re ready, it’s time to head to your comfortable bedroom. Rooms are booked on a double occupancy basis. Get plenty of rest, as you’ll be hitting the slopes tomorrow.
Day 2 - Take off from the lodge
On the second day of your tour, you'll wake up early, ready for a day of heliskiing.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast buffet, the guide will give your group a full safety briefing. During the briefing, you'll learn everything you need to know to stay safe on the slopes and in the helicopter.
You'll also be given your avalanche safety equipment. Each participant will receive a backpack packed with an air system, an Arva avalanche beacon, a shovel, and a probe if you haven't brought your own kit. High-quality skis and bindings are also included.
Then it's time to head off for the day's thrilling heliskiing adventure. Nordurflug's Astar B2 helicopter will take off directly from the lodge and transport you to some of North Iceland's most majestic peaks. Your mountain guide will choose your daily runs based on weather and piste conditions.
After an unforgettable day, the group will return to Soti Lodge for a three-course meal and a good night's sleep.
Day 3 - Explore the slopes
On the third day of your exciting heliskiing adventure, it's time to hit the slopes again. You'll have around an hour's helicopter flying time, and about eight ski runs today.
Your group will explore the fresh powder runs in the mountains around Siglufjordur and Olafsfjordur towns. This area is known as the Troll peninsula. Heliskiing will allow you to reach peaks that are otherwise inaccessible to skiers.
The ski slopes around the Troll Peninsula are some of the best in Iceland. One of the unique things about this area is that the mountains start from sea level, which means you can ski from soaring peaks down to the coast.
You'll be able to refuel during the day with a specially prepared mountain lunch, giving you plenty of energy to complete the rest of your runs.
After another magical day of skiing, it's time to head back to your accommodation at Soti Lodge. Here you can try out a flotation relaxation program for the ultimate rejuvenation. It's the perfect way to prepare you for your last day of heliskiing.
Day 4 - Final day of heliskiing
On your last day of heliskiing, the mountain guides will plan your ski runs. Like your other days on the slopes, you’ll have around an hour of flying time and eight runs.
Before you head off for the day, fuel up with a final buffet breakfast at Soti Lodge. Then it’s time to take off in the helicopter.
During the day, your group will traverse the best of the Troll Peninsula’s fantastic backcountry ski runs. The helicopter makes runs like these easily accessible, with no additional hiking needed to reach them.
Once you’ve finished skiing, you’ll climb aboard the helicopter and head back to Soti Lodge to collect your belongings. The driver will then drop you off at Keflavik International Airport to catch your flight home.
If you’re not ready to leave Iceland, you can request a drop-off in Reykjavik or Akureyri instead to continue your adventure.
