Daily itinerary

Day 1
The aurora borealis lights up the starry night sky in a brilliant splash of color, a winter bucket list adventure for many travelers to Iceland.

Day 1 - Keflavik Airport Transfer, Northern Lights Tour, and Optional Blue Lagoon Visit

Day one begins when your friendly driver greets you at Keflavik International Airport, in line with your flight’s arrival. They’ll help you with your baggage and get you comfortably seated in your super jeep for the ride to Reykjavik.

A private airport transfer is the best way to start your vacation in Iceland. You don’t need to wait around for other passengers, arrange a rental car, or navigate public transport options. Instead, you can enjoy the ride to Reykjavik on your own schedule.

A modified super jeep or monster truck is your transport over the coming days. These hardy vehicles can tackle challenging terrain from snow to river crossings, allowing you to travel to exciting, off-the-beaten-track destinations.

Those who arrive in the country early enough can add an optional trip to the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa today if they choose. It’s easy to book this at the checkout. Select Comfort or Premium admission tickets, and your driver will take care of the rest.

The Blue Lagoon is a world-class spa and a must-visit attraction for travelers to Iceland. Its mineral-rich milky-blue waters are prized for their health benefits, and the spa’s outdoor setting is stunning.

Whether you visit the Blue Lagoon today or not, you can enjoy seeing the barren volcanic landscapes of the Reykjanes peninsula from your super jeep window. As you get closer to Reykjavik, you’re treated to gorgeous coastal vistas with the North Atlantic Ocean to your left.

After arriving at your Reykjavik accommodation, you can rest for a while or go out and experience one or two sights in this vibrant city. The Hallgrimskirkja church is one of the city’s most striking and iconic landmarks, and it’s a great place to start.

An exciting winter-exclusive evening activity awaits tonight. Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation for a private and complimentary northern lights tour. They’ll take you to hunt for the brilliant colors of the aurora borealis, complete with a free photo service, hot chocolate, and volcanic vodka.

Don’t worry if the conditions aren’t ideal and the lights don’t show themselves tonight. If the tour goes ahead, but you don’t see the aurora borealis, you’ll get the chance to try again on another night for free.

After an unforgettable first day in Iceland, your driver will take you back to your Reykjavik accommodation.

Day 2
The Gulfoss waterfall is one of three stunning Golden Circle attractions, which cascades down a canyon.

Day 2 - Golden Circle and Langjokull Tour with Optional Snowmobiling Excursion

Day two starts with a super jeep or monster truck pick-up from your accommodation in Reykjavik. Today’s eight-hour adventure begins by discovering the breathtaking attractions on the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most popular sightseeing route.

First up, you’ll head to Thingvellir National Park, where Althingi, the Icelandic parliament, was founded over 1,000 years ago. The park is also geographically significant, being the only place you can walk between two continents globally.

The Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are slowly being forced apart here. As you stroll between the continents, you can take your time to appreciate the outstanding natural scenery all around you.

Next, your driver will take you to the Geysir geothermal area. The Great Geysir lies dormant, but you’ll see the spectacular Strokkur geyser erupt every five to ten minutes, so get your camera ready!

The landscape here is fascinating. You can expect to see boiling mud pits and steam rising from the earth.

The Gullfoss waterfall is the final Golden Circle attraction, known for its power and beauty. This waterfall cascades down a 90-degree bend in the Hvita river, a spectacular sight to behold. On sunny days you may even see a rainbow in front of the falls, offering a perfect photo opportunity.

After seeing three unforgettable attractions, you’ll stop for lunch to fuel up for the afternoon’s adventures.

Then it’s time to go off-road and into the Highlands. Your experienced driver will easily traverse the rugged terrain of the Langjokull glacier in your super jeep or monster truck. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride!

Today’s optional add-on is an exhilarating snowmobiling tour on the glacier. Passengers as young as six years can enjoy this excursion, and if you wish to drive the snowmobile, you must be at least 18 years old with a valid license.

Whether you go snowmobiling or not, you’ll love spending time on the incredible ice-covered landscape at Langjokull.

Before returning to your Reykjavik accommodation, the driver will stop at the small yet beautiful Faxi waterfall.

Day 3
Seljalandsfoss waterfall on Iceland’s South Coast offers visitors the opportunity to walk behind the falls for stunning views and photo opportunities.

Day 3 - South Coast and Katla ice cave

Your driver will pick you up on the morning of day three, ready for another action-packed sightseeing day. Today’s tour takes nine to ten hours, and you can add an optional ice-caving excursion to the Katla ice cave to your itinerary if you wish.

One highlight of your day three tour is visiting the areas most affected by the Eyjafjallajokull volcano eruption. It lies dormant now, but a series of eruptions caused widespread air travel disruption in 2010.

The South Coast is known for its pristine waterfalls, and today, you’ll see two of them. Seljalandsfoss is up first, a jaw-droppingly beautiful waterfall that’s also unique. Here you’ll have the chance to follow a path around the falls and capture photos from all angles.

Skogafoss is nearby and known for its power. This must-visit waterfall tumbles almost 200 feet (60 meters) into a pool. Its 82-foot (25-meter) width and stunning surrounding landscape make it one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls.

The black sand beaches along the South Coast are some of the country’s best, and today you’ll get to walk and drive along them for an unbeatable experience. Take some time to appreciate the dramatic coastline and watch the waves crash on the shore.

Vik is Iceland’s southernmost village, a charming settlement loved by travelers for its scenic surroundings. Today you’ll see the bird cliffs surrounding Vik, so ensure you have your camera ready to capture shots of the sweeping coastal views.

the ice-caving trip to day three, you’ll also get to explore a fascinating ice-covered world. The Katla ice cave, also known as “the secret ice cave,” boasts 800-year-old ice in contrasting colors of black, white, and blue.

On the way back to Reykjavik, your driver will take you past the greenhouse town of Hveragerdi. You’ll see rows of greenhouses growing various plants and produce in this geothermal area.

Your driver will drop you back at your accommodation at the end of another glorious day.

On the final day of your action-packed four-day itinerary, your driver will drop you back at the airport in your private super jeep or monster truck.

Depending on when you depart, you may want to see or do something else today. Like day one, day four has the option to add an excursion to the Blue Lagoon spa on your way to the airport.

Soaking in the luxurious thermal waters at the spa could be the best way to finish your vacation. After two full-day tours, you may want to relax and rejuvenate in the spa’s warm water. Just add a Comfort or Premium ticket to your booking at the checkout.

This tour is entirely customizable, and the tour operator can add any additional activities. Ideas include helicopter or boat rides, snorkeling or diving, kayaking, mountain biking, glacier hiking, and more. Therefore, if time allows, add one more exciting excursion to your day. For the snorkeling tour, participants need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim.

Reykjavik also offers endless opportunities for exploration, so those with a later flight can explore the city sights if desired. Take your pick from museums, art galleries, parks, or shopping on the famous Laugavegur street.

Then head along the coastal path and marvel at iconic landmarks like the Harpa Concert Hall and the Sun Voyager sculpture.

When it’s time to head to the airport, the drive offers a final chance to appreciate the nature of Iceland. Wave goodbye to the city sights and take another look at the vast Atlantic Ocean stretched out on your right-hand side.
