Come along on this guided boat tour on Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon, one of Iceland’s hidden treasures. See the Vatnajökull glacier tower over the mountains while you sail amongst icebergs in the icy lake. This tour is for anyone who would like to experience the surreal but magnificent landscapes of Iceland.

Fjallsárlón is an isolated glacial lagoon in the realm of Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. Arriving at the lagoon is like stepping into a dreamlike world that offers spectacular sights. Iceland's tallest volcano, the Öræfajökull glacier, looms above the lagoon and reaches down to the water where icebergs break off into the lake and drift serenely around before melting.

After being fitted with a warm suit and a life jacket your tour guide will take you down the green, mossy landscape towards the lagoon where you will find the boats. There you will be taken on a journey through time as your tour guide will steer your boat through this glacier lake and give you unique insight into the nature and history of this area. The boats will take you close to the glaciers, providing dramatic views of the blue and white icebergs and the breaking glacier tongue.

The solitude and magnificent landscape make Fjallsárlón one of the most unique places in Iceland. The lagoon in unbelievably picturesque, a dream coming true for any keen photographer.

Vatnajökull glacier crawls down a steep slope into the Fjallsárlón lagoon. The glacier is a part of Vatnajökull National Park, one of three national parks in Iceland. The park features a wide variety of unique landscapes.

Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to see floating icebergs and giant glaciers up close. The Fjallsárlón boat tour is an adventure you will never forget! Check booking availability by choosing a date.

Pss...allow me to let you in on a little secret. I'm guessing you've probably marked down Jökulsárlón on your itinerary as a must-see attraction during your stay in Iceland. This is all good and well. Beautiful place to see. But what most travellers to Iceland are unaware of, is that right next to Jökulsárlón is an even better lagoon. On this tour, we got really close to the glacier, there was plenty of ice in the sea. We even had the pleasure to have two young seals joining us while on the water. Fjallsárlón lagoon...5 stars.
