The tour departs from Reykjavik by bus at 08:30 AM, with a short stop at Gullfoss Waterfall on the way. As you head into the Highlands, enjoy views of rivers, valleys, and snow-covered peaks from the comfort of the bus.
Once you arrive in the Kerlingarfjoll Mountains, you'll transfer to a Highland bus for the ride to Hveradalir, a geothermal area known for its steam vents, hot springs, and colorful hills. You'll enjoy a hike through the stunning area with a guide who will provide insight into the region’s geology and history.
After your hike, you'll arrive at Highland Base, where you’ll have some free time to explore the area. It's a good chance to pick up a take-away lunch box from Highland Base or enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant and rest.
Around 2 PM, the tour continues with a visit to the Highland Baths, where you can relax in warm geothermal water while taking in the surrounding nature. Remember to bring swimwear and towels with you on the tour.
Once you're rested and rejuvenated, the return trip to Reykjavik departs at 5 PM, with a stop at the Geysir Geothermal Area along the way. The estimated arrival time in Reykjavik is around 8:30 PM, leaving you with plenty of great photos and memories from a day of adventure.
This tour is available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in June, and daily in July and August.
