Small Group 8-Hour River Rafting Tour from Reykjavik

Raft down the Hvita River with your family on this small-group tour with pickup from Reykjavik. The tour is designed as a gentle ride for young children.

You're picked up in Reykjavik and driven about 1.5 hours to the rafting base at Drumbo in the Golden Circle area, a short drive from Gullfoss Waterfall.

At the base, your guides help you gear up for the river. Each raft holds 8 to 10 people.

The Hvita River flows from Langjokull Glacier and creates Gullfoss Waterfall. This tour starts a little further down the river than the standard Hvita River rafting tour, at Bruarhlod Canyon, where the water becomes smoother and more child-friendly.

From the canyon, you paddle about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) downriver with your expert guide, through calm canyons and smooth waves.

If some adults in your group want a longer ride, they can book the full Hvita River rafting tour instead and meet the rest of the family at Bruarhlod Canyon.

After the river, you can warm up at the base in the outdoor hot tubs and the sauna with an infinity window, and use the showers and changing rooms. The base also has a restaurant and bar, where you can add a BBQ lamb feast or a hamburger and fries, with vegan options, at your own expense.

Your driver then takes you back to Reykjavik.
